Very excited that this restaurant has opened in the neighborhood and that it is actually good!

I have been twice now and both times I really enjoyed the food and the value received.

First the queso is some of my favorite in DFW now, don’t skip on it. Even the small is served with a generous amount of cheese and chips.

The tacos are all very good and the taco plate with rice and beans is a good value for $10.

The owner is very friendly and came and thanked us multiple times for coming and even gave us a free dessert. It felt good to be supporting small business.

My only complaint or suggestion is that I wish it was counter service instead of having to order and be served at the table. I feel with a taco joint counter service is expected as it’s intended to be a fast meal. Being served by a server slows down the meal, which at lunch time especially minutes matter. The service I received both times has been good, but for this type of restaurant I would rather just order at the counter - and the way the restaurant is set up it’s almost surprising...

Have been going to Tacos El Metro with friends and family since they opened over a year ago. Time and again, my party and I have had a wonderful experience.

The food is exceptional and doesn’t leave you feeling tired or overly full after leaving. Knowing Chef Michael Garcia and discussing his menu, I know he only uses clean and fresh ingredients and relies on the simplicity of these ingredients to create something delicious.

Not only are his tacos my favorite in town, but the service always exceeds my expectations. When Chef Garcia isn’t in the kitchen, he’s wandering around the dining room checking on his patrons. His co-owner, Sergio Quijano, is the definition of what a front of house business owner should be. His knack for remembering his regulars, cracking jokes, and serving top notch drinks (that you will not be able to find at any competing street taco joint) is memorable and keeps us coming back.

I love this restaurant and whether it’s a slower Monday lunch or a packed Cinco de Mayo party, Tacos El Metro knows how...

So disappointed when we talk to chef Mike and señor Sergio they said that’s there tacos we’re going to be like real Mexico street tacos but not sure about that 1. Chips are not fresh they taste like Tostitos extra salty 2. Service no welcoming at all the lady at the counter they don’t know what to tell you not even a welcome nothing just here the menu . 3 one tortilla taco in Mexico is double tortilla 4. No flavor at all in any of the meats pastor too much achiote . Puerco no salt o pepper . Ribeye taco no flavor dry meat and last but not least a grilled chicken taco please they don’t exist in Mexico City .. they talk about having unique flavors but not sure .. salsa makes the taco to go abrevé and beyond but I don’t know what type of salsa they have but a real spicy flavor one sure they don’t .. drinks please hire a real bartender .. and styrofoam plates please don’t.. get some taco basket seriously . Chef Mike I know you can do better than that …. Other wise you just another taco...

At first you see the building from the outside and you question it, once you walk in its really nice. Super clean, i mean my hats off its a clean place that alone makes you want to stay. We ordered some tacos steak 3 out of 5, pastor 3 out of 5, chicken 2 out of 5 and suadero 4 out of 5. Chips and Salsa a 3.5 out of 5. The salsas the orange one 5 out of 5, the green 4 out of 5. We also ordered chilaquiles with steak it was a 3 out of 5. I think it was the tomatillos they had a sour taste to them but it happens when tomatillos are just not cooperating with you. The steak it had was the same they put on the tacos, I thought maybe it would have been more like strip pieces but they where chopped square for tacos seemed a little amount for the upcharge for having steak on the chilaquiles. Great service, they make sure you are doing well ever 5 min thats good service. I'd definitely recommend this place. Maybe try something else it sure does need another try. A sold place a 3 out of 5 for this visit.
