Very excited that this restaurant has opened in the neighborhood and that it is actually good!
I have been twice now and both times I really enjoyed the food and the value received.
First the queso is some of my favorite in DFW now, don’t skip on it. Even the small is served with a generous amount of cheese and chips.
The tacos are all very good and the taco plate with rice and beans is a good value for $10.
The owner is very friendly and came and thanked us multiple times for coming and even gave us a free dessert. It felt good to be supporting small business.
My only complaint or suggestion is that I wish it was counter service instead of having to order and be served at the table. I feel with a taco joint counter service is expected as it’s intended to be a fast meal. Being served by a server slows down the meal, which at lunch time especially minutes matter. The service I received both times has been good, but for this type of restaurant I would rather just order at the counter - and the way the restaurant is set up it’s almost surprising...
Read moreHave been going to Tacos El Metro with friends and family since they opened over a year ago. Time and again, my party and I have had a wonderful experience.
The food is exceptional and doesn’t leave you feeling tired or overly full after leaving. Knowing Chef Michael Garcia and discussing his menu, I know he only uses clean and fresh ingredients and relies on the simplicity of these ingredients to create something delicious.
Not only are his tacos my favorite in town, but the service always exceeds my expectations. When Chef Garcia isn’t in the kitchen, he’s wandering around the dining room checking on his patrons. His co-owner, Sergio Quijano, is the definition of what a front of house business owner should be. His knack for remembering his regulars, cracking jokes, and serving top notch drinks (that you will not be able to find at any competing street taco joint) is memorable and keeps us coming back.
I love this restaurant and whether it’s a slower Monday lunch or a packed Cinco de Mayo party, Tacos El Metro knows how...
