Checkers — Restaurant in Dalton

We ate here 2 days ago and we ordered 1 small Coke Zero and 1 medium Coke Zero, we were nearly home before I took a sip of mine and it tasted horrible. Somewhere between mothballs and strong taste of city water. We were very tired so we waited until the next day to call the manager. With the economy the way it is $5 is hard to come by. The manager was very sweet and apologized and said if we would come back she would give us 2 medium Coke Zeros. So we went straight there and was fixing to order our lunch but we decided to straighten out the Coke Zero mishap. So my husband asked for the manager but the one he spoke to that morning wasn't there. The shift manager who was hispanic, talked condescendingly to us. She asked what drinks we'd like. My husband asked for Coke Zeros and she said are you sure, because if they tasted bad yesterday then they wouldn't be any good today. She was grinning like the Cheshire cat. We called corporate and told them what happened. By the way, they have EXCELLENT customer service. We had a bad experience here at this very Checkers 27 years ago and honestly had just recently started eating here again. Well, we will be eating at one of the other 2 Checkers from now on. I recently visited Checkers and had an amazing fast-food experience! The staff was friendly and quick, which is always a plus when you're in a hurry. No Checkers employees understand English sufficiently to answer the question: "Are your hot dogs 100 percent beef, or are they pork?" None knew the terms beef or pork. None were aware of dietary or religious restrictions on consumption of pork that 2 billion humans observe. None knew how to read the label on the box the hot dogs come in. They act like it shouldn't matter to me because it doesn't matter to them. Do they have the same attitude toward other things they know nothing about, like germs and viruses? Disappointed that this chain restaurant hires untrainable workers, or has decided NOT to train them in the interest of customer satisfaction or safety. No manager available.
