HAVE LOW EXPECTATIONS** THAT'S MY BEST ADVICE. I was bamboozled by the Chicken Express located on S. Bowen Road at Pleasant Ridge location in south Arlington. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR & GO TO SONIC INSTEAD! AND IF THE MANAGER TELLS YOU SHE IS GOING TO HAVE THE OWNER, BENJAMIN, CALL YOU BACK FOR A REFUND, DON'T BUY IT. HE DOESN'T RETURN CALLS, HE DOESN'T ISSUE REFUNDS, & HE DOESN'T ANSWER COMPLAINTS IN THE FORM OF REVIEWS EITHER. THIS LOCATION IS SO SLOPPY & UNAPOLOGETIC IT'S PITIFUL.
I placed an order on the Chicken Express website & selected delivery. I had my reasons for choosing to have it brought to me, which are not relevant anyway, so I'll skip that.
I ordered the 8 piece mixed with one side and just added a family side of mashed potatoes and gravy. The total was $47. Plus tip. The order arrived on time and before I could check it the driver was already gone. Well, no potatoes or gravy.
I didn't think it would be a problem, I honestly thought they would just do the right thing and we would all go on with our lives. Never in a million years did I expect to be treated the way I was treated.
I called them right away, again, IT was just common sense and such a simple fix, I was totally expecting them to make it right without hesitation!! It never in a million years would have crossed my mind that they would even consider any other response in this situation. After all, my complaint was super fixable!! Plus, I was only like a mile away!
Nothing could have prepared me for the way they treated me when I called them about this missing five-dollar side.
Basically, the (only) solution they offered was I could come get em my damn self.
No, they can't bring em, no they can't give me a refund for em. And no, they aren't gonna apologize either. Like it was my fault for placing such a complicated order or something.
It was unreal. When I say unreal, I mean truly unbelievable.
Finally, after calling & having several conversations with some kid answering the phone up there giving me the runaround, who by the way, actually dared to basically insinuate that I was lying! I was able to talk to Jalissa, the manager. Finally, someone in charge! Someone with some sense of reason!
She said she wasn't authorized to issue any refunds so she would text BENJAMIN, THE OWNER, & he could give me a five-dollar refund! I hope maybe even an apology!
Since I had no choice, I gave her my # & hung up with her so she could text him. She assured me he would be contacting me ASAP. I followed up later that evening and the next day. Jalissa never expressed any concern whatsoever. Frankly, she had to be lying to me because what kind of business would have a manager running things, & not authorize her to make important decisions like giving someone a refund? Isn't that like a requirement and isn't it a pretty common managerial task?
BECAUSE*
BENJAMIN NEVER CALLED. AND I WILL FOREVER FEEL SOME KIND OF WAY ABOUT THIS. I AM STILL MAD. IT HAS BEEN MONTHS NOW SINCE I ORIGINALLY WROTE THIS REVIEW AND I AM STILL REALLY PISSED. AND RIGHTFULLY SO. THEY SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN FOR GOOD. I'VE READ OTHER REVIEWS, BENJAMIN...
Read moreWe stopped in at around 9:15. The initial young lady wasn't exactly rude, just very short and abrupt. As we started to pull away we stopped to check the order. There was some type of seasoning that we requested at the window that was not in the bag. We backed up to the window. Two of the young ladies were standing facing the window talking to the third. Both of them could clearly see us. We sat there for a few minutes then I started waving at the from the passengers set. The young lady with the hoodie on walked over to the wind, turned her back to us after doing something then walked off. I had to honk the horn to get them to acknowledge us. After opening the window she just stared at us. Not a word just stared. My wife asked for what was left off. After handing it to my wife she still has not said a word to us, my wife thanked her. She shut the window then turned around and walked off. You would think after paying $49.00 for 20 chicken tenders & two sides you would be treated better. Obviously this culture here. The way they were acting was not just a one off occurrence. Pulled up their website when we got home to let them know what was going on. You cant. It states please address all concerns back to the store where the issue happened. So now we know where the customer service aspect came from. I would recommend Lisa's Chicken on Pioneer. The prices are better and we have never had a customer...
Read moreAs I was felling a bit hungry due to fasting. I stop at my favorite chicken shop. This is my first visit at this location and my last one. The location looks pretty good.
The service not so much.
I asked for a 3 piece dark meat special, which is pieces of dark meat and a roll or biscuit for $4.
I was told they don't have that. I stated they do, bc I ate it yesterday at a different location. They proceeded to tell me they don't have similar menu as other places.
She asked me if i wanted a meal or the combo. Instated I wanted the 3 pices dark meat special. The cashier proceeded to charge me $7.29 for 3P and 1 roll.
My inner Karen came out. I'm not proud of that, but I come to Chicken Express enough to know their menu.
I left after telling the cashier I was going to another Chicken Express who knows what they are doing.
I could hear her indignation as I left the building. Rad that as common gesture that some people do in the south.
Now, here I sit, eating what I wanted and paying what I understand is a huge deal at Chicken Express I 6300 US-287 Frontage Rd in Arlington.
The inner Betty White came out once I got that delicious chicken in my mouth.
More than likely the store I'm eating belongs to the same franchise owner, yet I'm treated better here, and this store is not as "nice" as...
