RUDE RUDE STAFF... insulted my wife, and me NEVER AGAIN will I stay at any Super 8, or maybe any Wyndham property, if we can help it. Though no one will read this likely, feel free to sit back and enjoy the story.
For the past couple weeks, hovering around Mother's Day 2018, we have had issues with our almost brand-new HVAC system in our own home. We live in Fort Worth, about 4 miles from this hotel.
Well, its getting to be in the 90's everyday already. In Texas. We need our AC. Waiting for warranty work to be completed, we decided to bite the bullet and get a hotel for a few days.
Tried a competitor first. After paying online, we were told upon check in, that because we are residents in the same county as the hotel, we were not allowed to stay there. Strange, never heard that one before. This was at midnight on Monday night/Tuesday morning.
So, we scrambled to find another hotel at the same rate. We weren't looking for 5 star accomodations, just a clean comfortable room with cold AC, and a friendly staff.
We got 2 of 3. Not bad odds, I suppose.
Just to be safe, last night we figured we needed to reserve another night at the hotel. So, we called the front desk. No answer. Next, call the 1-800 number. Someone answered right away, took our reservation, said "thank you" and we went to sleep.
We both have to be at work early this morning. I work about 25 miles away, in Dallas. She headed to the mid-cities - also about 20 miles away. I had left this morning, while my wife went to make sure our reservation was still OK, assuming we could use the credit card on file.
Michael, the desk clerk, could not have been more rude to my wife. He told my wife that she "was not good enough" to reserve the room. And that she would have to "have your husband come here to reserve the room" or she would have to check out.
Not good enough? Michael's English was extremely broken, and despite our pleading over the phone (after my wife called me), they still would not honor the credit card. Lost in translation? I doubt it.
So, I am having to take off work to go check out of our hotel and figure out our next play. Screw this place. Go find somewhere else to...
Read moreBED BUGS!!!! We checked in at around 3 p.m. and left 40 mins later to be at the Linkin Park concert. I checked the appliances and sheets when we arrived, the microwave was especially nasty and the sheets were stained and had holes from cigarette butts on them even though we told them we don’t smoke. As I was drying my face there was a blonde hair on the towel, and none of us are blonde 🤢I also had to ask for an additional towel and the towel was stained from what seemed like dirty hands, I forgot to take a picture of that when we left… Even then I was willing to overlook it because we just needed a place to stay for the night. We came back at almost 2 a.m. so barely used the hotel whatsoever. That’s when I spotted a BED BUG chilling on the headboard. I was up there for maybe 20 minutes, thank goodness I left our bags in top of a table and not on the bed. We immediately packed all of our stuff and talked to the man in the front desk, his response was the “yeah some of the rooms have them”, why are you guys offering rooms knowing they have bed bugs?? And said that his manager wasn’t going to be there until morning and that he’ll most likely only give us a partial refund. He did offer us another room but after his response I would NEVER stay in another room of theirs, they’re probably all infested with bed bugs. Doing only a partial refund for this is absolutely ridiculous, we will be filing a chargeback as we never used their “services”, and had to drive back from Dallas to Houston due to the time and just frustration of being tired from a long concert and having to deal with all of this AND having to find another...
Read moreThe rooms were clean, extremely hot, but clean. The stay was okay, no major issues besides people in the parking lot until all hours of the night. We had a 2 double beds non smoking room. Check in was pretty simple. They, like most hotels place a hold for an amount (30.00) for incidentals. When checking out I went to the front drop off my keys asked for a receipt or something showing I checked out and the youbg man at front said since I our hated through a 3rd party then I wouldn't get one and the hold would be released after checking the room. Okay understandable.
Now it's a surprise that the charge has POSTED no longer pending. I call and was advised a manager would be in 15 minutes from then and will call me back. Okay I waited 2 hours. NO CALL . I call and no manager is there and the guy tells me that we actually CHARGE THE CARD AND THEN WILL ISSUE A REFUND SO IT NEVER IS HELD.
I explained I didn't sign for you to charge anything and only for a hold nor do I have a receipt for anything or proof there is a refund.
The young man on the phone says " I just work here to book rooms. " I asked of the manager could call me or maybe he can call them since there is no corporate office but privately owned. He says MA'AM and just hangs up.
No call from manager yet. They will refund my 30.0p plus the overdraft fees they caused. . If not I will sue. First they're rude adn the rooms not that good to deal with this.
This hotel is not worth the price. I will never...
