I have read the reviews pertaining to this establishment, and I did have second thoughts about coming here, like big time second thoughts. Nevertheless, it is the only business in town that opens very late, like 1:00 a.m., and when you get hungry, where would you go? I would agree with some of the things being said on the reviews, but a lot of them are a bit exaggerated. I am not being paid for making this review nor related to anyone in this establishment, just so you know. The hostesses were a bit timid and shy, but they are in no way unfriendly, there's a big difference. The place is bit dated and they could tidy it up a bit, but overall it is tolerable. I ordered the House Chow Mien, Chicken with mix vegetables, Beef Broccoli, Chicken Fried Rice (all in platters). The moment of truth came and I got the tell you this, the food was piping hot and it was out of this world delicious. Each and every dish had its own distinguishing flavor, and they were not over powering, it was just a pleasant experience for me. Well, considering the fact that I only ate a big breakfast that day, and water for the rest of the day, yes I love to splurge every once in a while on late nights. Overall, as a food lover, I love the food here, and I would certainly come back and eat here on a late night. On the other hand,I would be so critical if I was an Interior...
Read moreI recently had dinner at Skyline Cafe and I must say, I am perplexed by the negative reviews regarding their service. During my visit, I found the staff to be quick, efficient, and incredibly friendly. It felt like I was in the game 'Overcooked,' irl where teamwork and speed are crucial to success.
From the moment I stepped into Skyline Cafe, I noticed the staff's dedication to providing excellent service. They seamlessly cleared tables, took orders, and collected payments with ease. Despite the seemingly busy environment, the staff worked together harmoniously, ensuring that each customer was attended to promptly.
Now, let's talk about the food. Sky Cafe certainly doesn't disappoint in this aspect. The menu offered a variety of options, and the portions were plentiful, especially considering the price. I left the restaurant feeling fully satisfied with leftovers for 3 more days.
We ordered the 3 dish combo meal which comes with the house soup and unlimited rice. I didn't know the portions were so big, so I ordered an additional noodle. All dishes came out quick, hot, and very tasty.
the delicious food and generous portions ensured that I will be visiting again...
Read moreYour friendly neighborhood dive. A convenient late night eatery if you live around the area. Foggy as heck, but worth the drive since the food is decent and inexpensive. You could pretty stuff your stomach to capacity for about $10. You probably won't find a place any cheaper around San Francisco, or maybe you can, but it's rare.
Anyhow, the food here is tasty. The Chow Fun (flat rice noodles) is a bit greasy though, but.is very filling. The Porridge with Preserved Salted Pork with a thousand years old egg (black preserved egg) is also good. And I really like their Deep Fried Garlic Chicken Wings. All was very good. It was very filling (probably grease) and to the point. The flavor was obviously there... Especially the Chow Fun. Not the healthiest thing to put in our tummy, but we all splurge unhealthily at times.
Parking was abundant late at nights compared to the weekends where you'll literally have to fight for a space. Probably too many stores and not enough parking spaces for the plaza.
The Skyline Cafe is convenient and very affordable. A bit on the dirty side and decor is pretty weird but is excused because...
