The food has changed for the worst. Previously I've eaten there with a craving for some yellow rice as well as their rolls and was told they don't do yellow rice only in certain meals and they were out of the bread. Just recently craving the yellow rice I went back to order the Pa so I could have the yellow rice. When the order came it was covered in liquid and the rice soggy like soup. The crab meat in it was imitation squares that had a consistency when bit into as that of mash potatoes. The manager said oh they put too much liquid I'll fix it. She drained the liquid out and left some imitation crab meat. Dish of rice still soggy like oatmeal. Not what you would expect as a $30.00 dish. The crab itself was rubbery to chew. Bread was ice cold and not fresh. Very dissapointed yet I paid. My friend had ordered the same meal also expressed her dissapointment but kept her dish and picked out the imitation meat. We didn't order soup with a rubbery crab that you couldn't chew along with imitation crab meat. If a restaurant wants to cut back by adding imitation meat to their dishes they also need to cut back on the cost to the customer. And to mention you also need a Chef who knows the consistency of cooking lobster, rice or whatever falls...
Read moreI came to eat here at 8 on a Saturday. The hostess was M.I.A. and I was told by another patron that you just have to go on a search mission to find her. Five minutes later we did and after a comprehension battle, she understood two for one table and two for another table. We waited ten minutes to get seated at a table that was open when we got there. The hostess apologized, borderline profusely, for her confused state.
She brought us a water bottle that was dirty on the bottom to dress our white tablecloth... Ugh. She brought us some not so soft or warm bread. The waitress came and took our orders, asked if I wanted my dressing on the side, I said yes. It came out on the salad. We ordered clams as the appetizer. We sent them back for being too salty and having a not good interesting taste.
We have been here before...The meals are good, just nothing special. The tables are close. The waitress was good for the most part. She did pack our food and gave me my espresso on the house. We did have to get another waiter to get our check and that same waiter to take the payment. The entire ordeal took an hour and a half. I'm having a hard time understanding how this place could ever be busy but Danbury is a great place for...
Read moreWe were visiting the area for a family event so we thought we'd give this restaurant a try. We arrived without a reservation but that turned out not to be a problem. We were warmly welcomed inside and promptly seated. Rolls and a small dish of tasty olives were immediately brought to the table. We had many questions about the cuisine and our waitress was really patient and answered all our questions. We started our meal with the fried sardines appetizer. It was crunchy and delicious. For the main course, my husband chose the Octopus which was perfectly prepared. He devoured it with glee. I was warned that the seafood stew was enough for two people but I went ahead and ordered it anyway. It was a huge portion filled with shrimp, a whole lobster, scallops and squid, all in a rich, savory broth. I stuffed myself and still had enough leftovers for another meal at home ! All through our meal, the waitstaff was attentive to our every need and went out of their way to keep us happy. This was our first visit but it won't be our last. I can't wait to come back next time...
