Pembroke Deli — Restaurant in Danbury

This is an update to my review as Pembroke Deli has moved in 2020 to 56 Padanaram Rd, which is in the little strip of shops with Pho Vietnam in it and across from Jim Barbarie's.

Without a doubt this is some of the best Mexican food going on anywhere in the area! They have a broad menu that will please anyone including breakfast (hint: try the Chorizo, Egg and Cheese!). And yes you can get the basics like a burger, a salad, or a chicken cutlet sandwich and they're all great, but why pass up a monster Chimichangas or what I consider the most spectacular on the menu: a chicken, pork, or steak Tortas!

The food is excellent - made with high quality ingredients and visually appealing. The staff are very friendly and the prices are low for the meal that you get. If it wasn’t for the most recent price increase I would have given this place 5 stars.

Now I’ll explain - I ordered food using their menu via phone. According to the menu the price of the item I bought should have been $20. When I got there I was quoted a price of $30. While I could have argued and stated the menu online said a different price I just paid and left. Probably a recent change that they didn’t have time to update.

The food is good, but the prices are near (or more than) most sit down restaurants of the same/similar quality in the area.

But I’ve never had a bad meal here. From the empanadas, to their burritos. Even their tacos and breakfast food is great. I’d recommend this place in a heartbeat if you...

Actually my daughter goes here often with one of her best friends after school all the way from Newtown and I absolutely LOVE finding new delis to try because if I live it ..I'm a hooked customer. I have yet to try it myself but my daughter has has nothing but fabulous things to say about the food, the service, the staff. It's all a very close family run business and I love to see that ..it makes going somewhere so much more personal because you see how great it is to see family work together and always getting to see familiar faces it's great. Anyone looking to try a new deli. I recommend this one...
