Bagelman — Restaurant in Danbury

Had a very unpleasant experience. Not only did I witness racially profiling by assumed owner and or worker but was screamed at by an old woman. I went to enjoy a meal with a old friend of mine and to catch up and two woman in the corner decided it was okay to yell at me to put my ankle off the seat as my ankle was sprained and I wanted to relieve the pain. Then I witnessed them yell at two children/ teenagers to leave as they were waiting for a ride home. Mind you, it was snowing outside and these two children had no where to go yet these woman yelled at them to wait outside. The deli was still open as it was only 2pm… why were they kicked out? Well after the two children had walked out I sat and recorded the two woman continue to talk badly about how children from the high school come to bagelman yet don’t order anything. They were clearly enraged. But what is even worse is that those Hispanic children were sitting there and Al thought they were not paying customers they were not creating any disturbance. AND those two woman did not say anything to the multiple other non ethnic people in the room who were not paying customers as well. The two children kicked out were sitting there casually as one does talking to each other just as everyone else was. My true question is why are two Hispanic children kicked out of the restaurant and not the two white children sitting across from them. Doing the exact same thing? Very...

I order from this place consistently and what’s annoying is they can never follow orders correctly. If I order a turkey BLT I expect to receive just that. If I add stuff to that sandwich I expect to receive what I’m paying extra for. It’s not that hard. I’m paying inflated prices, plus fees, plus a tip and 9/10 my order is wrong because someone failed to comprehend instructions. I order the same sandwich everytime so it’s not that hard. Last time i ordered the Turkey BLT and got turkey and cheese. Mind you I’m paying $16-$17 for a sandwich. Today I ordered and asked for onions and hot peppers, got the hot peppers not the onions. Also, there’s no option to add regular cheese, you can only add extra cheese which is annoying because you can choose what kind of cheese and you have to pay $2-3 for extra cheese. Ask for scrambled eggs, so overcooked they were inedible. Very dry. No salt and pepper or butter which I ordered and payed extra for. Just cheap oil and sadness😒💔

Beware. It's only $0.50 but I asked for a small fry that was labeled $3 on the visual LCD menu boards watching it rung up on the pos display it said 3.50. I brought it to the manager and the cashier's attention. Neither of them seem surprised and they both told me I'd be paying the $3.50 if I wanted the fries. Then they use the excuse that the board needed to be updated which is complete BS because it's just as easy to update the menu board as it is to update the cashier system. It's the kind of fraud you do when you think your customers are stupid. Please somebody open a place around here that makes fresh bagels and values customers. I'm sure you would do well
