Recently I have discover this place and this is the only Haitian restaurant I get my food from when I’m at work in Hollywood. However today I have an unfortunate experience with them. As a fair man, I must admit that the foods taste great. I called to place an order (fried fish with mushroomed rice.) I specifically told the lady that the person who’d come for the food is not Haitian ( one of my English speaking employee.) She was taking the order while she was talking to someone else without saying sorry or wait a second etc... None whatsoever. I was not surprised when my representative came back with white rice instead of brown rice because I knew the lady’s level of professionalism was at staggering low. So, I called to tell her that you give the wrong rice after I specifically told you what I wanted and who will pick it up for me. Her response was “well, you can come back for another one.” As a businessman, I value my time greatly. I was trying to tell her to be as professional as one can be when you have business. I said to her there are lot of haitian restaurants in Hollywood I choose Lubin’s because you never disappoint me with the food but I do also seek good customer service from you. She replied “ well, go get your food from another restaurant then, I don’t ask you for all those details. Either you come back for the right order or you go somewhere else.” The next thing I heard is the beeping sound. She hangs up! I hate writing bad reviews, especially when it has something to do with my Haitian brothers and sisters who own a business. It left me speechless and wondered why few of us have good customer service? Is it because my Haitians believe their voodoo spell would bring customers no matter how they treat them?
I may never know. P.S. I will be back for more pwason and diri djondjon...
Read moreI should have known something was not right when they gave my blended pikliz. who puts pikliz in a blender? Anyway I can't speak to everything on the menu but I can say the fried fish was so, so, SO, so dry. and the black rice was not good, it was black in color but didn't have the right flavor.... like either they didn't cook it was the black mushrooms or coconut.... also they use some weird long grain rice. the thing that topped the cake was I got a $20+ platter and these ninjas gave me 3 slices of fried bananas like it was a garnish 😂. look elsewhere, this is not an accurate representation of good Haitian food. love supporting small businesses but this ain't it. if you're looking for good black rice, fish, or pikliz you should pass on this place. On a good note, the guy at the front taking orders was super sweet and helpful. maybe if you're getting anything else like griot or white rice or anything else on the menu, you...
Read moreI don't know why in most Haitian restaurants, the workers look sad and unwelcoming.. although this lady greeted us, she wasn't welcoming. We were looking for Patè Kodè. They didn't have any that day. So we saw that they had Ground beef and Salt fish (Mouri) Patty's. So we ordered two of each, they were only vyan moulen. And it was pureed meat in the patè. False advertising and unwelcoming, they didn't have change for a $20.00, so I had to use my debit card for $2.00. I will say although I he meat was pureed, it was flavorful. All in all, We have to do better as a...
