"Great Comfort Food Experience!"
If you're in the mood for some delicious comfort food, look no further than Black Bear Diner in Danville! My recent visit to this restaurant was nothing short of amazing, and I can't wait to go back.
One of the first things that struck me about Black Bear Diner was the wonderful atmosphere. The cozy and rustic decor with its bear-themed motifs created a warm and inviting ambiance that instantly made me feel at home. The restaurant was clean, well-maintained, and had plenty of seating options, making it a comfortable spot for a meal.
The staff at Black Bear Diner were incredibly friendly and attentive. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm smile and felt welcomed by the staff. The service throughout my meal was prompt and efficient, which added to the overall positive dining experience.
Now, let's talk about the food! Black Bear Diner is famous for their bacon, and it did not disappoint. Their Bear Bacon Benedict was a true treat for my taste buds. The bacon was crispy, flavorful, and truly the bomb! It paired perfectly with the eggs and hollandaise sauce, creating a mouthwatering combination. I also appreciated the generous portion size, which left me feeling satisfied and content.
In addition to the Bear Bacon Benedict, Black Bear Diner offers a wide variety of comfort food options on their menu, including burgers, sandwiches, salads, and more. There's something for everyone, and the portions are hearty and filling.
Overall, my experience at Black Bear Diner in Danville was fantastic. The great atmosphere, friendly staff, and delicious food made it a memorable dining experience. I will definitely be back for more of their amazing comfort food, and I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a satisfying meal in a welcoming...
Read moreMy husband took our 7yo for a special daddy/son breakfast. Their food was delivered to the table, they had a few bites and then my son needed to go potty. In the time it took him to go potty and wash his hands they had cleared the table of all food and beverages. My son had eaten 1/4 of his pancake, their side of bacon was untouched and my husband had barely touched his omelet. The wait staff had not come by to check on them at all and their check for the cashier had not been delivered to the table.
My husband went to the front of the restaurant and asked where their food had gone and he was informed that he should have found a member of the wait staff and let them know they where using the restroom before leaving the table.
My husband then asked them to remake the order and they begrudgingly agreed. My son and husband went and sat back down, after a few minutes no beverages where brought and my son was now getting squirmy. My husband returned to the front and told them he needed to leave. They yelled back to the kitchen to cancel and they said they weren't even making it yet. They then made my husband pay for 1/2 the bill because according to the cashier they had eaten half the food. My husband just wanted to leave at this point.
This was a slow Thursday morning with only about 5 tables in the restaurant. No one is expecting a lot from black bear but we've always considered it a fun place to take the kids for breakfast.
We will not be coming back!
Just want to put a warning out there for everyone make sure you flag down your wait staff and tell them you need to go potty or they will take your food and be fully...
Read moreWhen your picnic basket is running low and stomach roars as loud as a bear, here's your place for a large-food-fix that you can really chomp your teeth into. The menu has a lot of selections, breakfast is served all day, and worthy desserts at a fair price. This is a good default place that has something for everyone.
It's not "diner" cool, per say. It's in the category of family restaurants: Cocos, Spires, Denny's, Carrows (but better than), and just under a Marie Callender's or Mimi's Cafe. The big difference? Bears. Tons of them. They have everyone's love -- magnets to spice up your plain ol' refrigerator. It's also a great place to take your grandma.
Nice service-oriented folks in service and management. Sit at the counter and you'll observe good relations between staff and smiles, and lots of fun with mmmm's and oooohhh's everytime a chicken fried steak, a bread pudding, or a chocolate hot fudge sundae is ready to be served.
Not running back, nor do I miss it...but would I go back? Yes, I said above, but ONLY when my picnic basket is running low.
Location specific: Danville, CA
There's no selfies with bears here. Other locations that I've been have 6 foot bears carved from wood in various positions and activities. Kids normally find Black Bear Diner lots of fun, but this isn't.
Bakery doesn't kick arse -- very small selection compared to...
