To start, the service could be described in one sound, "meh."

My sons and I went to breakfast there this past weekend. I ordered corned beef hash and eggs over medium. One thing that bothered me was that the menu didn't say it was corned beef hash. It just said corned beef. I figured they meant hash, but I'd have been very disappointed had I wanted just good old corned beef. The eggs came over easy, but I'm somewhat used to that in diners unfortunately. My toast was over-toasted and it seemed some pre-melted butter was brushed on it. The hash was standard.

One son had to wait for his waffle because the cook didn't see it on the ticket. It was okay. About the same as I would make at a continental breakfast bar in a hotel. My other son had silver dollar pancakes. He liked them. I found them to be okay at best. They both had chocolate milk, which didn't have nearly enough chocolate syrup mixed in to even taste vaguely chocolaty.

For me, the best part of the Farmhouse is the atmosphere. It's nice being able sit with family upstairs and to overlook the facility and to serve oneself from the food bars, however the food is either pretty good or just meh....regardless of the quality, it is expensive for what you get, really expensive. The serve people don't do great in directions or attitude for that matter; so I stood in a long line (as directed) at the coffee counter (1 staff person only????) Just to get myself glass of water??? The ever present tip cup was ignored btw. Last issue: does anyone ever clean the bathrooms?????? The many times I've been at Harvest, I have never used a clean bathroom, which is why I have avoided purchasing ready made food, and I have avoided the Farmhouse until recently. PLEASE CLEAN YOUR...

VIPs is a very well known diner here in town with a focus on breakfast and lunch. I believe they also started the option to substitute toast with a single pancake that some other diners in town have since adopted. The staff is always excellent; the food is superb considering its moderately low price.

I do prefer the breakfast options over the lunch. And breakfast is served during all open hours, so makes it an easy choice.

The loss of one star is due to a rough parking lot condition as well as a dated interior atmosphere. If you can easily look past those two points, consider this a 5...
