I've been going to this restaurant for close to two years now. It's cool that they've been able to stay open and thrive as a small business where they're located. Since they've opened, I haven't had too many issues with the order being wrong. It seems like they've changed the way that the food is prepared on their assembly line, and that has greatly improved both the speed and the quality of the service. I typically try to avoid the restaurant during busy times like Taco Tuesdays and around the lunch hours, simply because I've worked in food service, and I can understand how things can go wrong very quickly and with ease in such a high stress time frame.
The flavoring of the foods can change, which I like about small business restaurants like these. It means that they're not shipping to food in, pre-seasoned and ready to thaw like some of the chain places we know. Others may find this lack of consistency off-putting, and unprofessional, but it shows to me that the cooks put their actual time and effort into these meals while also trying to serve large crowds.
I would not say that this is the best place on the planet; you can only get that kind of good, traditional food from Abuela. However, it offers good food at a reasonable price, and it's great to see Scott Community College Alumni out there making a difference in our communities one burrito at a time.
I will consistently give this place my patronage, and I will always take my friends there to give them more customers. Best of luck to the owners, and keep up...
Read moreMy fiancé and I were craving tacos and decided on los primos as we usually do - we got the 5 taco and a drink special, 2 barbacoa tacos on flour shells with cheese only specifically asked the young lady for no onions and cilantro on them, a large guacamole and we asked for extra limes - not a hard order - not only did they put cilantro and onion on the two tacos we asked for cheese only on and did not put cheese on them but we got no extra limes AND WE WERE CHARGED $35!!!! And that was with a student discount so technically it was over $37 dollars! For what! I get that inflation is hitting everyone but last time we got way more and it was actually made correctly and it cost at least ten dollars less than tonight. Definitely will not be ordering here anymore, every time we order they charge us differently and half the time it’s not even right, I’ve worked in food service so I get it and I never leave reviews or send food back but this is...
Read moreHow does this place have such a high rating?? Unless it's just all rigged. Has to be rigged. I drove all the way across town to try this place on Taco Tuesday. The tacos I saw being served to people eating there looked big and fat and good. I get home to baby Taco Bell ones. I actually had better at Taco Bell. Thought I'd try the braised beef one and a pork one also. Well you'd better like cilantro cause there's copious amounts of cilantro and onions. Not all that much flavor in any of them. I ordered the large beans and rice also and they gave me a small 😠. I told the cashier large 3 times!!!! And I got a small. It did say small on the receipt so the guy taking the orders is the one that screwed up. I even went over the order again when he rang it up. Will not ever go there again that's for sure. Nor would I EVER recommend it. I think Taco Bells...
