Giving this place 1 star only because I successfully picked up my order. Other than that the customer service was terrible. The poor attitude of the workers is what makes this place so bad. A semi-large order was placed through me and my coworkers trying to get lunch. When I arrived I barely had gotten half of what the total was for our order. When I found out I was going to have to put $100+ on my debit card I was concerned, but the food had to be paid for. What I was not expecting was the comments from the cashier making comments to her coworker directly in front of me such as, “I told you so, I knew it, that’s so-and-so no tip as expected” it was absolutely ridiculous. I was sent to pick up food for multiple people. I didn’t even have half the money to cover the order due to outdated menus and was not given a total over the phone. I was not given an itemized receipt. I was guilt tripped by workers for a tip when I already had to charge my card for $100 unexpectedly. In all the food was nothing special, the service and staff received,...
Read moreI have been dining at Maid-Rite for over 50 years. And this was the first time the food was horrible! (Division Street location) I heard rumors that this Maid-Rite has gone "down hill", they were correct!
We ordered 2 Rites wet (juicy), 2 bacon cheese Rites, 2 onion rings and an oreo shake.
The Maid-Rite meat was old, dry, and some very large chunks that were not broken down and raw inside!! Plus they seemed not to put as much meat on them...
The condiments were very sparse and on only 1/4th of the sandwich.
The bread was old and dry and the shake looked and tasted like a 3yr old made it! Barely any oreo cookie in it and not mixed well.
Service was okay.. she was a little rude and the only one there (besides cook). The store only had 3 other customers, so she wasn't busy.
I guess we will drive to Muscatine next time we...
Read moreMaid-Rite is the quintessential American Diner. This location has it all on almost every front.
Counter service, tables, and booths serve customers of all kinds. There is handicapped seating, high chairs, and every accommodation I've ever wanted.
The staff is particularly friendly and customer focused. They stop by every table at key points during the meal. They almost gleefully wait on each other's tables if a server is busy.
The food may not be fine dining, but it is tasty and solid diner fare. The appetizers are especially good at this location too.
This place is definitely worth a visit, especially if you have very young or very old people...
