Grinders is one of those spots the everyone is going to like. Their menu items have the home made / hand cut and selected flavors we all enjoy. Something as simple as their lettuce salad shines through with select and hand cut vegetables available with a simple house made dressing, a light but tasty, blend of oil, vinegar infused with Italian herbs and spices. The pasta dishes I tried where very good and flavorful. The two pasta meals I had would be perfect for a date night, one ordering Manicotti which is filled with Ricotta Cheese and the other ordering Cannelloni which is filled with Italian Sausage, then each could have one Cheese and one Meat ( each dish is two stuffed tubes ). The Meatballs were obviously hand made as was the Italian sausage that was actually a Italian Patty ( like a elongated burger and made with a mixture of Beef and Pork ) And ever dish, that is ordered with red sauce, shared the same hardy Meat Sauce. Even the Bread is store cooked and can be order with Plain, with Garlic, Covered with Melted Cheese or both. All the flavors across the board are muted. Most likely to satisfy the masses, but they never lose the care and thought that goes into their recipes. They deserve you trying them for yourself. Read moreIt’s not elevated Italian but it’s good! On par with Olive Garden but less expensive. I don’t know why so many people hate on this place. I’m in Davenport once a quarter and always drive by this place. I was pleasantly surprised at how good it was. I would def bring my family here because everyone could find something good to eat. Like I said, nothing fancy but a good dinner. I had the toasted beef ravioli, spaghetti and meatballs, salad with Italian dressing, and cinnamon bread. It was $26! The bread was meh, but I should have gone for the cheese bread, that’s on me. The only feedback I could offer is to salt the pasta water. The pasta itself had ZERO flavor, which sucks when you run out of sauce. They also support rescue animals and it’s nice to give my money to a local business. In the words of Arnold Schwarzenegger,...
Read moreI ordered a beef tortellini today in a 1/2 gallon... Got home and it was cheese.... I called... They told me it was impossible, the only had beef. I had left over beef tortellini from the Moline location, from lunch, and it was definitely different. The guy who answered the phone, told me I was wrong. No solution..... Very disappointing. It was weird but I am sure I saw the cheese tortellini on the Lentin menu at the register. Good food when it is right, but I am very offended that they felt I was lying. Check you inventory you in fact do have cheese tortellini... I know this because it is nasty and now I have an entire tub of it in my fridge. Use the Bettendorf or Moline locations!...
