I don't think this guy knows anything about coffee. Beans here are dry and stale, I was even sold a rotten bag once. Order your coffee from trade or another online fresh roaster, this place is a scam.
Update: I only come here to get beans as an emergency when my online orders from specialty roasters don't get here in time. Beans I get in the mail aren't necessarily black and oily, they just have this amazing fresh smell and look to them, and the coffee I brew always comes out tasting extremely well with tons of fresh and nuance flavor.
Whenever I buy emergency coffee beans from cubico they are always dry / cracked and broken looking with almost no smell.. Flavor is very bland and bitter and just don't taste very good. Better then store bought beans that have been on the shelf for who knows how long but just not great. After this encounter and response I will just have to start buying beans online in larger quantities in order to avoid this place.
And I really did get a bag of rotten/fermented coffee that had a terrible taste to it, I brought the bag in the next day without telling the employee where I got them from, he brewed it and confirmed that something was terribly wrong with them and they were bad beans, he laughed and was like wow I don't know who sold you these but they are terrible, he was very embarrassed when I said I got them from here.
This place has left a bad taste in my mouth and I will not be returning, I've spent hundreds of dollars buying their overpriced drinks which honestly isn't even better then Starbucks...
Read moreDuring my recent visit to Cubico Coffee I was taken aback when my black drip coffee was prepared using a Keurig machine. I had anticipated freshly brewed coffee, so seeing a single-serve pod used was surprising. When I asked about the Keurig, the barisa said she used their “house roasted blend”. The result was a cup that tasted more like hot water than quality coffee.
I had chosen Cubico Coffee based on its high ratings and appealing photos, expecting a hot breakfast with items like egg sandwiches and avocado toast. However, they only had a few croissants that looked stale and unfortunately even had a few flies flying around since the display is just open. When I asked about other food options, they said there wasn’t a food menu… which is confusing based off their reviews.
My sister’s iced latte was mostly milk with weak espresso. We spent $12 on these subpar drinks and left feeling unsatisfied.
It’s disheartening when a local café doesn’t meet expectations, especially when choosing it over a chain like Starbucks, which is exactly where we went after. Given this experience, I would hesitate to return to Cubico Coffee. I’m unsure why there are such high reviews, but hope I just caught them...
Read moreThe experience here has been steadily declining since last summer. It's taking longer and longer it seems to get orders and today I spent nearly 25 minutes waiting for a latte drink and a pour over. I 100% understand pour overs take extra time, however, it takes unnessecarily longer when the barista refuses to even heat up the kettle until they make the 6 other latte orders that came in staggered after me. No moves towards getting the grounds. No prepping of the filters. It was just me and my order to start, but the second other latte drink orders came in the barrista refused to leave the espresso machine and only ever kept making lattes. Finally, after those orders were done, they decided to heat up the kettle and prep the filter...then left it alone, long enough for the other barrista to have to step in and move it along after making a comment. Again, I'm perfectly fine waiting a bit for a pour over, but this was unnecessary. I don't think...
