Great patio dining. We had wine and the Caprese appetizer to start our meal and it was very good. They have seasonal menus so the filet mignon I was planning on ordering was not being served. They had a surf and turf special so I decided to try that. The steak was okay but it wasn't very tender. Half of my lobster was good and tender but the other half was rubbery. I complained to the waitress. who left to ask the chef. After several minutes the waitress came back with an explanation that didn't even make any sense in relationship to my food. We shared a dessert and then asked for our bill. The bill arrived and listed the Surf and Turf with a zero price. Assuming they comped my meal due to the rubbery lobster we gave the waitess a big tip. Ten minutes after leaving the restaurant I received a telephone call saying they had made a mistake on our bill and wanted us to come back and pay for the surf and turf meal. Not wanting the waitress to suffer for this "error" I returned to the restaurant and paid the extra money for my poor quality meal. When we first left the restaurant we felt good that the restaurant cared enough to do the right thing for a dissatisfied customer. But with the way they treated me after-the-fact it is obvious that profits, not the customer, come first at this restaurant. ***** UPDATE ***** The day after my original review I received a telephone call from the restaurant waitress who served us. She said the owner said there was a misunderstanding and he didn't realize there was a problem with my food. The waitress said the owner wanted to now refund me for my meal but she wanted me to give her my CC number. Since I wasn't comfortable with that I agreed to return to the restaurant again. I returned to the restaurant later that night, contacted the waitress who claimed they had already refunded my my meal back to my CC. So, it only took two extra trips, and with NO contact from the Manager, to resolve a billing problem that I should have never had to make so much effort to resolve. Moral of the story, complain loud and get the manager involved if your food is not right.

The atmosphere of this place is nice, with several outdoor tables surrounded by string lights. The service is also always great. The food, though, is what I'm rating here. For such an expensive menu I always expect more flavor, however we've always left a little disappointed. On our most recent trip, I ventured out of my comfort zone and got the squid ink ravioli. Ravioli is probably my favorite pasta, but the texture and flavor of this one was off. It felt like it had been taken out of the freezer and not cooked quite enough -- a few of the squares weren't even separated fully. The whole fried softshell crab was interesting but definitely not for me (though that's a personal opinion and not factored into the review). There wasn't anything wrong with the food, but there also isn't really anything particularly special about it? Not quite worth the price to justify becoming a regular but the seating area is nice for a special occasion.

Okay, where to start. First, if you are dining here with a party of two let them know ahead of time you don't want one of their tables that only seats two people. It's such a long table that you literally can't hear your date from that far away respectable over the noise of the restaurant. They have 901,832 different wines (or so it seemed) and not a single sweet wine. The indoor seating was pretty busy, the outdoor seating not so much. It was 100° F the day we went. Them being busy is hopefully why the service took forever. We waited a good amount of time for our food to come out, then for our dessert order to be taken. Our server was pretty awesome though! Finally, not so much the restaurants fault but the singular fly that kept landing on my food was definitely driving me crazy the whole night. Food was excellent though. All in all I was underwhelmed.

Booked 3 for mothers day, they had a fixed 3 coarse meal menu and no other options , we all had the same thing , first course ..sword fish carpaccio(maybe a 1/4 ounce of swordfish with a 1/8 cup of greens , main course maybe 3oz of chicken breast with 2 pencil asparagus that were about 3/16” in diameter and 4-6” long and a 1/4 cup of mashed potatoes …food was good but under seasoned (needed salt ) and of coarse they don’t have salt and pepper on the table because I am assuming the chef thinks it’s perfect and insulting to ask , all three us had the same thing and skipped desert which was included in the price , also had a total of 2 lattes and split a bottle of sparkling water…bill was $284 and with tip $320 …keep in mind NO WINE….not only was it not even close to enough food for a satisfying meal ..it was a total rip off , the prices were not on the 3 course menu that was provided at the table nor was the pricing on their website a week prior when I booked the reservation and assuming I would be ordering off a regular menu …..I have been to every corner in Italy and I can never recalll ever spending $80 for a 3 course meal , it might be understandable if the restaurant was in a major city and the space was $10-20sqft but it’s not and it’s acceptable but nothing unique or special ….I wouldn’t even expect such small portions and at these prices at a Nuevo French restaurant …maybe there normal menu is much better value ? But this was a...

Decided to try Osteria Fasulo for our Date Night. We wanted to try this restuarant because it was rated highly (Top 10 in Sacramento) on Open Table.

First, the atmosphere was amazing. We decided to sit outside because of the lighting, weather and propane fire. Definitely a romantic setting! We sat near the back which was perfect.

Second, the service was over the top. Our waiter was Mossimo (Hope I am spelling that right). He was prompt, educated on the menu and very professional. He has been by far one of the best servers I have had in a long time. Drinks, Appetizers, Food and Dessert were brought out promptly.

Third, the food was perfect. Portions were decent size and the food was brought out at a great temperature. We had Garlic Bread, a Small Salad, Penne and Gnocchi. Each item was AWESOME! Even the standard dinner bread was good. Everything we ate was over the top.

Fourth, the Owner Leonardo. How many restaurants do you go to and the Owner comes out to ask you about your experience? 1 out of 10? 1 out of 100? 1 out of 1000? The Owner Leonardo was the icing on the cake. Coming out to engage with us and talk to us on a personal level goes along way. It took us 50 minutes to get to the restuarant and we 100% will be back.

If you are in the Sacramento Area or in Davis this is a MUST...
