La Monarca Tacos and Ice Cream — Restaurant in Dayton

My partner and I have been there 3 days in a row this week after discovering this gem. We wanted some ice cream but our normal place is closed for the season. I looked up “ice cream near Me” and La Monarca came up. My partner and I jumped out of bed and headed to the restaurant. We were immediately greeted by the owner who was so friendly patient and helpful. We went for ice cream but HAD to try the food. The smells alone will knock you into heaven. We ordered 2 steak tacos, a Mexican spite and both 2 large scoops of their ice cream. It was so good & the owner was so friendly it reminded me of good service back when I was a kid. Post covid has made it hard to find a good hospitable place. We back the next day and I got 3 Birria tacos and my partner got the Doriloco (similar to walking taco) . We went again yesterday. I’ve been a regular customer and always loved the Dubai Chocolate Strawberry Cup. Previously, it used to cost around $18 and they would be generous with the pistachio sauce, strawberries, and other toppings — it used to feel worth the price.

But now, even though the price has increased to $20.59, the quantity has gone down a lot. They barely added any extra pistachio sauce or strawberries, even after paying more. Even thought after saying less strawberries they are keeping more less of everything else.The cup wasn’t even full this time. We was driving back from working in Dayton and found this place for lunch. The food was amazing, the restaurant is very clean, and great service.The only problem I had was that there was too many amazing desserts to choose from lol. I will probably take the 1.5 hour drive back to eat here again. When are you guys going to expand? We need more of these...
