Nothing not to like about this place, other than the lot (which is VERY rough - I almost popped a tire pulling in; I advise to park on the street if you can). That doesn't take away any points though. Authentic tacos, $2 each, and people STILL line up in the Taco Bell drive-thru for some reason. Some reviewers have mentioned a long wait time (15 min), which I understand at busy times. On my visit, there were two people ahead of me, and I still had my grub within 10 minutes. Be careful with the red sauce (salsa picante) - it WILL fire you up, no matter how much of a "hothead" you are. Even the green (salsa verde) has a little kick to it, but both are very flavorful and, obviously, made from scratch. I've been told the fajitas plates are excellent, and that's what I'll be trying next time, because I will definitely be returning. If you're reading this, that means you're curious; so...GO THERE ! The red sauce is at best a 3 out of 10.
Don't get me wrong, their tacos are good, and they are very tasty, but they were dry.
It's almost like eating a well seasoned turkey, and while absolutely acknowledging the saavyness of the fact that it is seasoned to perfection, and the echo of, "but it's dry",...
Read moreYou didn't come here for ambiance. It's not a place to run elbows with Dayton's upper crust. You came here for one thing -- delicious, satisfying tacos. For just $2 each, you can sample an assortment of tasty treats, prepared traditionally in corn tortillas and topped with onions and cilantro. If you're a hot head and the habanero slaw is available, be sure to take some home. The chicken was a little dry, but the al pastor was perfect. Next visit for me, I'm going for beef and tongue. My dining companion had a quesadilla that was more like a flat burrito stuffed with rice and beans in addition to cheese and meat. Flip up those couch cushions, grab a friend, and hit up this taco truck parked right off Third Street. You won't leave disappointed...
