Riverside Marina Bar and Grill — Restaurant in Dayton

I have lived in this area my entire life and I've never been to the Riverside Marina. Family of five stopped in on Monday and when you walk in it clearly said "please seat yourself". We did this to the left hand side sitting at the picnic tables. After 10 minutes , nobody came out and then the couple next to us got up and went and got their own menu,.came back and said "I guess you have to serve yourself on this side". No word that it says this when when you walked in, having to place your own order, it clearly said to have a seat. We decide to go on the side with the umbrellas where we saw servers walking around. We found a seat at the end, and after at least 10 minutes we were greeted and given menus. The server then came back a few minutes later, and took our drink order of one margarita, one beer , one lemondae and 2 waters. It took 12 minutes to receive these drinks and the margarita wasn't mixed, you have to do that yourself which we were not aware of . She then went to a bigger table next to us to get their order. Another 5 minutes went by before she came back to get our order. At this time, I told her we will just pay for the drinks and leave. She apologize saying that they were short this day, which was no fault of her own and shei could see she trying her best. We were not willing to sit in the sun and have to wait this long for a food order when it has taken this long just to get drink orders. The bill came back at $17 for literally a small margarita, a cup of beer and lemonade. Pretty insane.. I attempted to reach out on Facebook to address my issues only to have the messages read and being ignored. First and last time, will not come back here.

I went there years ago, but I had a great time when I visited Riverside Marina! The staff made me feel very welcome, and it was a blast! GenX was playing and their performance was top notch! Now that I am living in the area, I will be back. I hope you don't mind that I'm going a bit off topic in the review section, but I couldn't find anywhere to post my question and comment. Are you all having bands play? I am trying to find some kind of normalcy in this pandemic. Also, I wish that we could make comments on the reviews. Some are so pointless. Like the one that was mad about her dog not being able to stay. Taking a pic and warning parents of glass pieces was so petty. It's not like its permanently there! Instead of taking a picture of it, they should have alerted the staff so it could be picked up. I know that you can't please everyone, but her review came across as someone that didn't get what they wanted, so they searched for something to complain about. Several of the reviews come off that way, which makes them look bad, not you. Keep up the great work, guys, and hopefully I will...

I've been wanting to check out this place all Summer. Finally made it last night. I won't go back. The food was horrible. I got the fish 'n chips. There was confusion about what "chips" meant. Our waitress thought it meant potato chips. It came with 2 sides, so I got fries and onion rings. The fish, fries and rings ALL tasted the same. They tasted like they were prepared in very old oil. I couldn't eat it after just a few bites. Our waitress gave us a bill and someone else's credit card half way through our meal and that was the only time we saw her. We had to go to the bar to get our bill and pay. We said something to a older lady that we assumed was the manager or owner. She didn't offer to take anything off the bill.
