Although Slyders is a small neighborhood place, it seems to be very popular as it was quite busy for lunch. I would have to say that they are mostly known for their burgers. Companion one ordered the Giuseppe burger which was Italian style with provolone, red peppers, and a marinara sauce. Companion one stated, “If you like the meatball sub at Subway, then you would like this burger,” which was a compliment. It was felt that the fries were just okay, nothing special about them. Companion two ordered the chili salad, which they said was basically a haystack. Anywho, companion two thought it was more like a plate of nachos. It was felt that the chili was tangy and a little spicy, though the salsa, which was at first thought to be the grease from the meat, could have been drained a little. It was appreciated that the other toppings were on the side. Companion two said they would come back to try a burger. Companion three ordered the 7 oz. burger w/ cheddar cheese and fries. Again, nothing special about the fries as they could have used some salt, but the burger was cooked well and was good, though would have probably preferred American cheese. Companion four ordered a sampler of the potato skins, jalapeno poppers, onion rings, and chicken tenders for all to share. Companion one found the poppers to be really spicy, and I thought it was odd that there was cut up white onion atop the potato skins. After I scraped them off, it was your typical potato skin. Companion four also ordered a 7 oz. Mushroom swiss burger and onion rings. Again, the burger was cooked well and thick. Companion four is not a fan of raw onions but likes onion rings. However, it was felt that these onion rings were too “oniony” because of the cut and was not necessarily a fan of the beer batter. Companion five ordered a bacon cheeseburger with fries. The burger was good and the bacon nice and crispy. Companion six ordered the Giuseppe burger and onion rings. It was not the first time ordering this burger and it was enjoyed thoroughly. The 7 oz. was more than sufficient, considering in the pass a 10 oz. was ordered and was too much meat. The onion rings were a favorite as well. The thicker cut of the onion is much appreciated as it pairs well w/ the beer batter not being heavy. As for me, companion six will be happy to know that I enjoyed my meal also. I got the 7 oz. cheddar cheeseburger w/ onion rings. The burger was juicy, although considering the thickness of the patty, it could have benefitted from being seasoned. I opted for the 7 oz. as I thought the 5 oz. would be too small, but I ended up not being able to finish my meal. I enjoy a beer battered onion ring and there was a lot of them. It was also very affordable, under $20 w/ a drink. So, bottom line, if you’re ever in the area and want to try a good burger, give Slyders...
Read moreFirst time at Slyder's for both of us. The place was a little crowded, seating wise, but they are also full, which is a good indicator of the food... Lots of regulars in here, another good sign..... The staff were super friendly and helpful....The menu was interesting, as you can see. Lisa had the "girlie" size burger and I had the Giuseppe special (burger with mozzarella cheese, roasted red peppers and sauce), we ordered onion rings for the appetizer. The onion rings came out first. They were beer batter and had a good taste to them... We both liked the taste, but there was a bit too much grease for our liking. The burgers were another matter all together.......... Lisa's burger came out and she said that it was a very tasty burger...... Also that she wished that she had just ordered the burger..... As for me, the special was very tasty.... The bun was given a garlic bread treatment, which was a plus.... The burger was really good, with the combination of the sauce, cheese, and bread, I didn't need to put any topping on it whatsoever, and never noticed, it was that good. The fries were better than the onion rings and not as greasy. Overall, we rate this a good neighborhood place to go. As we are not from the neighborhood, we may not make it back soon, but we have good memories of these burgers, and if you happen to come in, so will you..... And you'll be helping local business, which is...
Read moreWe are locals and we have often ordered from here, and the food is always good, however the past few times that we've been here. Everyone has been RUDE. VERY RUDE. My husband went in there tonight to pick up a carry out order, which he ordered at 6:00 and he didn't get back home with it until after 7:00 pm, I could have went to a sit down place, ordered, and eaten in an hour, (We live less then a minute down the road- walking distance.) He said they made him feel as if he was a bother to them and on one occasion when they did bother to say something to him while he was standing there patiently waiting- it was to tell him that they were almost done "tossing his wings." Which he then had to tell them that was not even his order. When our order was finally ready they gave him his food and sent him out the door, without even an utter of "Sorry for your wait." Or blah, blah. So sorry that we ordered food from you all, and were such a bother. Rest assured, that we won't be doing that again. Although we have been customers for over 6 years now, to make people feel as if they are a bother and not even welcome in your establishment is...
