This wonderful shop is nestled in one of the cutest historic neighborhoods in Dayton, and if you are looking for an adorable spot to do some local shopping or are interested in learning to create pottery yourself, I would HIGHLY recommend trying this place out yourself. I just finished a Wheel 101 course with the owner, Sarah and had an incredible time. Sarah cultivates an atmosphere that is relaxed, fun and intimate. A class at Made not only guarantees you weekly masterclasses in all of the applicable techniques by your instructor, but ample time for one-on-one instruction and self-exploration. I went in with absolutely no experience in throwing, and by the end of my six weeks had thrown, trimmed and glazed more than half a dozen of my own pieces. Bottom line: whether it’s an educational experience or a sweet little outing don’t miss the opportunity to stop by Made. You...
Read moreI tried booking a 6 week class several times and it kept being sold out. I finally get into a class I book over a month out. They email 2 days before saying how excited they are to have me in class, then the following day (the day before my class) they email me telling me that not enough people signed up for the class and they need me to move mine to a Monday class (which I work so I physically can’t) if I can’t do this day they’d need to cancel my class and refund my money. On their website when booking it says nothing about them needing to cancel classes if not enough people sign up. I’ve been looking forward to this for months, just to find out there’s not enough people there to make it worth their time to come in, even though I paid over $300 for my class. Extremely disappointed in how they handled this and basically blew me off even tho I paid for my class. Highly...
Read moreThis is a cute pottery studio in the historic district of Dayton. I took a beginner course with my friend. This was my first rime doing pottery so I was nervous and out of my environment. Sadly, it wasn’t the best experience for me as a beginner. I wish the studio offered longer beginner classes and a slow paced environment. An hour and half wasn’t enough time to fully process the material and actually produce something of substance. I felt definitely rushed at times and lost in the process. It’s also a very small space and difficult to maneuver or see your instructor at times. I would be interested in coming back for another class once I have more experience...
