Please choose to spend your money elsewhere. Owner and Manager are rude, belittling, and charged me for someone else's bill, then refused to reverse the charge. On 5/18/24 I took my family of 4 to Brunch for my Son's Birthday before we went shopping. I hadn't been to Brunch yet and was excited to try it. Food was ok, nothing to write home about. Service from our server was good. Atmosphere was not impressive, there was some kind of liquid or food splatter on the wall of the booth we were in. The bill came and I noticed it was wrong. They only charged me $38 and change when I knew our bill would be around $100. I let the server know the honest mistake but she had already ran my card for the $38. She promised she would reverse the $38 charge which was someone else's bill (I never signed the receipt because it was incorrect). She brought my correct bill which I paid and tipped $20 on. On 5/20/24 I checked my bank account and both charges were taken from my account. I called Brunch and a very rude Server answered and I had to direct her to take my number and have the Manager call me about the issue since she couldn't help. The "Owner" never called so I called back on 5/21/24 and he was so belittling. Acted if their mistake was not an issue and I was being a problem for asking for my money back since they charged me for someone else's bill. I actually heard him tell his staff I was being a problem and he didn't have time for that right now, he was in the middle of lunch. I wish I would have noticed all of the reviews below which mention this Owner specifically belittling other customers. Another male called me and said his name was "Sum Yum" and he would look into it. He later reported that he couldn't find the charge and asked me to send him a picture of both charges. I did. He again said he would follow up. He didn't. On 5/28/24 I followed up with him via text. He reported that he isn't in the office today. I explained that it has been 10 days and I contacted a friend who is a GM for a multimillion dollar restaurant in NSB (yall he didn't know what Merks is) who advised that the situation is inexcusable and I should report them to my bank and write a review immediately. I told the Manager I didn't want to do that. Then all of a sudden he said he could get on his computer to look into my 10 day old issue. At this point I called my bank and reported the issue for fraud. The Manager called me back and again told me he can't find the charge. That's so concerning as they are running credit cards. My family owned diners for the majority of my life: The Ocean Diner, Stage Stop, The Springs Restaurant, and Colby Woods. I advised that I reported the incident to my bank as fraud, that locals will know, and I would write a review. This Manager then proceeds to ask me what I do for a job, where I go to breakfast, and then said people who write Google reviews have "issues". Asked me why I would want to tell people about my personal experience at Brunch. Well Yum Sum, Danny (he later said his name is Danny), whatever your name is here is why. I have lived in Volusia almost my entire life. It is a very large but also a very close knit area. Reputation is EVERYTHING. I do not want my friends and family spending their hard earned money at a place who treats their customers so poorly. Scroll down they did the same belittling behavior to a VETERAN. There are plenty other options that are better, with excellent service. This was a simple fix. Giving me my money back. Also just to educate YOU, I have an AA in Human Behavior and a BA in Sociology. I study people for a living. I am the wrong person to belittle which is clearly a pattern for Brunch based on your reviews. After belittling me, and I ending the call he then attempted to back track and offer me a free meal via text. Ha!...

Came in on a Sunday and decided to treat myself to brunch. Read the reviews and considered this to be a great choice. Brunch is very busy today, a good sign? Not so much. They had one cook and were backed up on orders. No worries, I have time today. Opted to sit at the bar to leave their tables for parties larger than one. Ordered a mimosa and the young lady asked a coworker how to make it⊠oh boy. Note to the point, she asked where to pour the champagne level and then drowned that with orange juice. Second, it took about 20 minutes for someone to ask me if I had ordered yet. It was at that time I was told their orders were backed up. I ordered the âBig & Healthyâ on the omlet section. Let me preface this by saying: the omlet section states ask the omelets come with either of the following: fries or house potatoes, English muffins or biscuit or toast. After about 30 minutes my order arrived sans the potatoes I requested. Mind you, the young lady who eventually took my order didnât ask me what I wanted, I stopped her several times in her multi tasking to let her know what I wanted. Be a advised, NONE of the omelet selections states which have these options. Itâs listed directly above the entire section, leading you to believe they all have those options. It does say â no substitutionsâ under the Big & Healthy but again, itâs very convoluted especially since my server did not correct me at the time I ordered it. People are friendly enough I suppose, I really wouldnât know as I wasnât really approached on how I was doing unless they were directly in front of me working on something else.
My overall experience was abysmal. The food was not as great as I had hoped. I didnât get what I ordered. My mimosa was very small and became hot with the time I had to wait for my order.
Will I come back? Try again? Maybe, not in a rush to do so.
Take it for...
Read moreWe arrived and sat outside, eager for a good meal. The waitress came over to take our drink orders, and we also gave her our daughter's order at that time (chocolate chip pancakes, two sausages, and a cup of fruit). Her pancakes arrived shortly after, and we placed our food order then. We decided to share a salad to start, which apparently led them to believe we didnât need our actual meals anytime soon, because 30-40 minutes passed before our food finally came. Even then, I had to remind her to bring my daughterâs sausages and fruit, which shouldâve come with her meal.
After picking at about 30-40% of our food, we asked for to-go boxes. The waitress took so long that we eventually told her to forget it and left what was left on the table. She finally brought the togo containers AND the check and we hadnât even been offered a refill on drinks.
The customer service was really disappointing. It felt like she had too many tables and barely had time to take orders and drop off food. No big deal, but when the check came to $101, we handed her $120. Then she asked, âDo you need change?â which felt inappropriate. Most servers just bring back the change, and you decide how much to tip from there.
As for the foodâit wasnât good. I was excited to try the steak and eggs, so I asked for her recommendation. She said, word-for-word, âThe kitchen doesnât cook steak often, so the temperatures donât always come out right.â That shouldâve been a warning, but I gave the restaurant a shot anyway. Big mistake. The omelette was about a 3.5/10âvery huge because it was made with four eggs, but the toppings were minimal and underwhelming. The best part of the meal? The two sausages and my daughterâs chocolate chip pancakes. Everything else felt like too much for how little quality there was.
I left feeling highly disappointed. I doubt...
