Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe Oliv and Brunch Daytona are owned by the same person. However, you would not think this after trying both restaurants. First, Brunch Daytona is 5 stars and has amazing food and great service. So we thought we'd give Oliv a try. Unfortunately, our experience here compared to Brunch Daytona was like night and day.
First, the young ladies working at Oliv were very hesitant to know what or even if they could substitute anything, but ok, they could be new and learning, so we moved on from that.
Second, they put our food on a wet tray. We were the only customers there at the time, so I'm not sure why they couldn't make sure the tray was clean and dry. This was very unsanitary.
Third, the gyro was wrapped in a thin paper and plopped onto a wet tray. We asked for a plate, and they gave us a bowl that the gyro did not fit into. When I went back and asked the one young lady to please tell the manager or owner that it would be a lot easier to eat if they supplied plates, she replied with "We will never have plates." That one statement made me a non returning customer. Why not say sure, I can pass that feedback along. Or perhaps try thinking out of the box and offer us a plastic carry out container to eat out of?
Lastly, to top it off, the chicken Shawarma rice bowl had fatty chicken. Although the gyro was good tasting and large, we were left with a wet tray and awkward ability of trying to eat and cut it in a bowl.
I can't help wondering about the platter that they offer...is that not served on a plate either?
So, hopefully, the owner can turn things around with Oliv and be amazing like his other place,...

I ordered pickup on ubereats and they had a promotion, so I received fries for free. I typically do not like fries, and if anything, I like mcdonald's fries (thinner fries). But their fries were very crip on the outside and soft on the inside! I loved it.
Then, I had their lamb bowl. Lamb is a very tricky meat to cook to perfection. Their lamb was thinly sliced, didn't have any bad odor, wasn't hard to chew on - it was one of the best lamb meat I had in a bowl like this. Their sauces were all on point, all ingredients were so fresh.
Baklava was also very crispy and didn't smell like old oil.
They have so many options to choose from for what goes into the bowl. If you have no idea, I had a great bowl with the following ingredients- dill rice, spring mix, tzatziki, toum (garlic sauce), cucumber, tomatoes, black olives, banana peppers, corn, cilantro, greek-mix of extra virgin olive oil oregano and herbs, zesty roasted garlic, and pita bread + grilled zucchini ($0.89) + fried...
Read moreI recently visited Oliv Greek Restaurant and tried their chicken shawarma salad. The experience was fantastic from start to finish.
The atmosphere of the restaurant is cozy and inviting, with tasteful Greek decor that sets the perfect ambiance for a relaxing meal. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making sure I felt welcome and well taken care of.
Now, onto the highlight: the chicken shawarma salad. The chicken was perfectly seasoned and tender, with a delightful mix of spices that gave it an authentic Mediterranean flavor. The salad itself was fresh and vibrant, with crisp vegetables and a generous portion of feta cheese. The dressing was tangy and complemented the dish beautifully, tying all the flavors together in a harmonious blend.
Overall, Oliv exceeded my expectations with their delicious food and excellent service. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a taste of Greece in a warm and friendly setting. I’ll definitely be coming back to try more...
