Pete's Pizza — Restaurant in Daytona Beach

This is absolutely the greatest pizza I have ever eaten. I grew up in Brooklyn NY and I’ve tasted my share of good pizza in my life. 2 years ago when I turned 40 I relocated my family from NY to Daytona Beach because I was sick of the cold and snow. Honestly the thought of eating non New York pizza grossed me out. So we just didn’t eat pizza the first year I lived here till I ran into an old friend from Brooklyn and he told me about a little place called Pete’s Pizza so I figured it was worth a shot. I’m sorry for the big autobiography but I’m just trying to paint a picture about how much good ,correctly made Pizza is to me. It’s pretty much my favorite food in the world since I was a child. So I’m very very picky about Pizza I eat. So about a year ago I gave them a shot with a simple large pie extra cheese, thin crust, and lightly cooked. And I swear they literally made the best pizza I ever tasted. Will and Skyler make the very best Pizza and calzones that I ever ate here or in New York. The absolute best!!!! I buy pizza there at least 2 times a week. My family and I cannot get tired of it. We absolutely love Pete’s Pizza. As far as the atmosphere goes it’s the typical New York style pizzeria. It’s very clean. Air conditioned, tv with cable. The staff is very friendly. I’m there so much that everyone is on a first name basis with me. Will, skyler, and George are my favorite to talk too. It’s so much fun talking with the guys there that I actually go out of my way not to call in my order before picking it up. I place my order when I walk in there and we all talk while my food is cooking. (Unless they are busy. But I usually came later in the evening when it’s less busy). Buy yea Pete’s is hands down the best pizza I have ever eaten. I cannot think of single bad experience ive ever had at Pete’s. I’ve actually told some of my old friends in ny about petes and quite a few of my friends remember when Pete’s was still in Staten Island NY and he was very well known back in the 80s for his sauce and crust. So if you’re in Daytona and want to experience real New York Pizza then swing by Pete’s Pizza and the second you walk through the door you will walk into a little authentic pizzeria from New York. I hope they stay in business forever. We just got pounded by Hurricane Irma and the very next day when all the stores were closed Pete’s opened up with generators powering his business and made a lot of us happy after a horrific hurricane. Terrible service!!!! Terrible Attitude!!!! So we placed an order last Friday evening for a large pizza half cheese half pepperoni and onion and a large antipasta salad.So we drove from Port Orange to Daytona to pick up the order. My wife went in, paid and received our order.We drove home and placed our order on the table and noticed that we received a small antipasta salad and when we opened the pizza box there was a plain cheese pizza.Are you kidding me they can't get a simple order correct. Well I guess no ones perfect so it happens.I called Pete's and talked to Cassandra and she said that they gave us someone else's order and did I want to drive back to get it replaced and I'm thinking our order is probably in good shape by now and we were tired from running around all day so I replied not really. Cassandra seemed to be very understanding and replied back well next time you come in we'll make it right just ask for me. Fast forward a week and I called and of course Cassandra was not in. I explained to the girl that answered the phone about my problem and she replied back that was me,you talked to me and I said no it was Cassandra and she then said I showed you the pizza before you left and it was fine it wasn't burnt.I told her I don't know what your talking about. After going through the whole story once again she said that if I gave her my number she would call Cassandra and call me back. After about fifteen minutes or so I called back and she said that Cassandra hadn't called back yet. Just then I heard a big mouth in the back ground yelling "They didn't bring back the food so if they order again I'll give them a discount" Nothing was mentioned about bringing back the wrong order I'm guessing maybe if I had they would sell the pizza for slices maybe after it's been in someone's home and back? I mean we're not dirty but that's just gross and probably against the law or something or at least against a health code or two. I told the girl no thanks and we went to Papa John's and picked up a very good pizza which we should have done from the beginning. Live and learn no more Pete's Pizza.Say hello to the big...

I grew up off beville, I don't remember them being good even to a child's taste buds 🤔 but I decided today to give them another chance after like 12+years... & If I could give them ZERO stars- I would! I'm being generous. The people who run it are RUDE, act like they're tough; and have AWFUL customer service! Prices have sky rocketed, and they call themselves a "restaurant"? A restaurant SERVES people. Its The epitome of fast food with a dirty, tiny dining area. Lol. The menu is VERY unclear on many items. I ordered a simple* chicken salad with dressing. (Or so i thought!) It said I had to pay $3 extra to add cheese!!? So if i had to pay extra for CHEESE, the assumption would be olives, onions, etcetc probably werent on there. Awesome! Because many people hate olives and onions... WRONG! it was riddled woth yuck and things i didn't ask for, NOR DID THE MENU STATE WAS ON IT. Must be going broke to argue on replacing a salad they charged me $12 for!!! Your that broke and incompetent in customer service, that lettuce and a few pieces of chicken was worth losing a customer and calling ME stupid ETCETC? LOL. HEY GENIUSES , If your menu doesn't list it under the salad, dont try to gaslight the customer into thinking they "should know" it's on there just because other salad names THAT I DIDNT ASK FOR list it. Fix yourself and your attitude and maybe you wouldn't be empty at lunch time. Lettuce doesn't cost much. Seems like a simple fix to me but hey what do I know.

SO BUYER BEWARE: IF YOUR GOING TO GET ANYTHING OTHER THAN THEIR PIZZA, check your order thoroughly and make sure you ask 1000questions (sarcasm) or tell them your whole lifes needs to make sure they get your order right.... BECAUSE IF THEY GET IT WRONG - they're NOT going to fix it. Clearly. Because if a bowl of lettuce and 8 lil pieces of diced chicken (probably 2 strips max) can't be replaced, well.... that's the kind of business PETES PIZZA runs. Good luck! My mouth tasted like vomit THE REST OF THE DAY after 1 bite. Yikes!!!!!
