Found a dash of ZEN and a true GEM while on vacation in Daytona Beach recently. Very welcoming entry way that opens up to a relaxing and quaint garden patio that incorporates luscious bamboo, wind chimes, fire pit, and a water fountain. While that's a plus....the creamy, rich, and flavor filled Thai food was the STAR! You could taste that it was cooked to order, when it was ordered, with nothing but the freshest ingredients. So you can be assured your food is not sitting on a hot plate waiting to be served! The portion sizes were big enough for 2 people to share and possibly even take home a little extra for a midnight snack. Pricing was even on point! To top things off, the family run establishment treated us like we were some sort of SPECIAL! Everyone we spoke to were informative about the ingredients and cooking process. Even telling us about their favorite dishes! We live roughly 2 hours away and WE WILL travel back just to go enjoy more of their Thai dishes. I want to try EVERYTHING on the menu, and you will too after just one visit! Pics are of the entrance to the garden patio, our appetizer of Fresh Rolls (Rice noodles, tofu, lettuce, and Thai basil leaves wrapped in rice paper, served with the BEST Thai Peanut Sauce I've ever tried and was assured it was made on site), and our main dinner dish of Pineapple with Chicken Curry (Red curry paste cooked with coconut milk, pineapple, bell pepper, green beans, peas, zucchini, Juicy chicken breast pieces and Thai basil). Because we shared, they even split our portions up for us to appreciate individually. ENJOY!

Amazing, relaxing lunch with a friend! She had never been to Zen Bistro, so was really looking forward to a new experience. We started with a couple of Thai rolls. She also ordered the Thai tea. Both were colorful and flavorful. I like to think of myself as adventurous, but my friend surprised me by selecting duck and spicy noodles with medium spice (she had never had either, but thoroughly enjoyed them). By comparison, I went with a safe choice of beef and wai wai noodles with mild spice. Absolutely done to perfection! FYI - they offer mild, medium, hot and Thai hot. I typically choose one level lower than I think I can handle with excellent results. I always manage to snag a booth, which makes for a somewhat more private conversation in this lively environment. The servers strike a perfect balance of friendly, attentive and unobtrusive. There are a good number of angled parking spots on the street (I try to arrive by 11:45 on weekdays). Upon entering the courtyard, you are greeted by a water feature, plentiful outdoor seating and a bar. This restaurant is a gem on the western edge of the newly renovated Beach Street area.

Made reservations for 10 for dinner. The table that accommodated us was half chairs and booth. The restaurant has both indoor and outdoor seating. The indoor has booths and table seating and the outside has chairs and tables for dining and also a bar to sit at. The food was good. Plenty of choices for entrees and appetizers. The menu is very organized and has pictures . The prices are very nice and affordable. The heat choices are mild, medium and hot. But you can choose the plus one which is between mild and medium in their spicy heat category. Service was friendly. We ordered a lot of appetizers and they all came at the same time and were nicely presented. All the entrees were served at the sane time with no long wait. They were nicely displayed and served hot. . I gave one less star for food bc my grandson ordered something that he wouldn’t eat. And I gave one less star for atmosphere bc the tables and booths inside were very close together .

We have been residing in Daytona Beach Shores for over a year now and have never been to Zen Bistro before today. We were missing out on a true gem. The service was spot on with everyone helping each other instead of every man for himself like you see at many restaurants. This truly makes for a wonderful experience. My husband had the Panang and said it was excellent. He went with medium heat, and from the look on his face, it had some kick. I personally went with the Pepper Steak, and it is by far the best I have ever had. Quite often with Pepper Steak, it's chewy because of the cut of beef used, but this was thinly sliced and tender. The vegetables were crisp, and you could taste their individual flavors. Add in the Jasmine rice (as you can see from the photo, I am a fan of soy sauce work my rice) and BOOM baby!!! It is an extremely clean establishment as well.
