Very nice place to stop and relax. We went on a Sunday and it was very peaceful, the sidewalks and gardens are beautiful, there are benches along the way.. making it great place to sit and catch up with a friend or just enjoy the views. If you're looking for the picnic tables as I was .. (we grabbed lunch at Buccees and then came here to eat) .. then they are near the splash pad, so if you see the large green building (restrooms) ..then park near there for the picnic tables. We didn't know this and just ate on a bench. Back to the splash pad... such a nice treat for the kids. Very spacious.. and again close to the restrooms (green building), which makes it convenient for changing clothes. I seen people kayaking in the water, people taking photos 📸 , and people just relaxing.. so just enjoy. No animals or biking allowed... the girls had push scooters and security didn't say anything, so I'm assuming those are...

When we arrived there was only a couple other people there, we stayed about an hour and by the time we left there must have been 15/20 homeless people that showed up. Not sure if there was food going to be handed out at the library or what was happening. We didnt feel threatened, but their lack of respect to our space was uncomfortable. We had our stuff sitting under a tree where my husband was and three of them sat down next to him and took over our spot. We are a family of 6, plus the mother in law, and a palm tree does not throw off that much shade to begin with. There were plenty of other trees to sit under yet they felt the need to take intrude on us. We didnt stay much longer after that. We were there trying to do some magnet fishing...
Read moreReminiscent of old Daytona this area is filled with humble little knickknack shops and coffeeshop storefronts. You'll find fashion, hobby, music, and art shops with culturally diverse food here. There is even a retro arcade... with beer... and pizza! There is an impressive pawn shop on the corner across the street from International Speedway Bridge. A beautiful library, on the river with a great shaded park for children in the back, cleverly placed on the river as well. Tortuga's Baseball Stadium which is a hot spot for events is also conveniently close by. There is a bridge that has been being erected since I lived here in June 2017 and unfortunately, it is still under construction today; April, 18th, 2019. It is the only eyesore in the area. All in all this is a great place to...
