We were genuinely excited for the evening, especially because our 6-year-old son was looking forward to the fire show. We arrived early, grabbed a few drinks, and settled in as the crowd began to grow. As more guests arrived, people started gathering near the entrance to the dining room, where a photographer was stationed taking pictures of incoming parties. Our group chose not to participate in the photo session. However, when we attempted to bypass it, we were told we had to have our picture taken—no exceptions. As paying customers, we should have the right to decline a photo if we’re uncomfortable or simply not interested. Unfortunately, the photographer’s response to our decision was not only dismissive but also shockingly rude, especially toward my mother. After witnessing her unprofessional behavior, I felt compelled to speak up and asked her to be more respectful in how she addressed guests. Instead of acknowledging the concern, she mocked me and told me I needed to change my tone. I’m not a confrontational person, but her attitude was unacceptable—and frankly, she’s lucky my son was present, or the situation might have escalated further. This experience left a sour taste, and I will never return to this establishment. The way they treat their guests, especially during the entry process, needs serious improvement. What should have been a memorable night for our family turned into a deeply disappointing one.

**In response to the business response to my review: My group was absolutely not cutting in line—that claim is simply inaccurate. There was no organized line to speak of; rather, a large crowd had gathered near the restaurant entrance, and everyone was trying to get in. It’s disappointing to see the business respond defensively to criticism. And yes, the gentleman did tell my mother she needed to take a photo. That happened. Please don’t accuse me of lying when I’m stating facts. In addition this is my only review, now if others in my party left negative reviews that is their...

Sent this email 1 hr after we left. Received an email the next day and no mention of my sent email! The wait staff was excellent! Show was great and overall cleanliness was great!

Hello, Just finished attending the luau. I booked my tickets months ago. Everything seemed fine except when we were getting ready to be seated. We did not want pictures!!! I was told I could not proceed to my table and the photographer repeatedly took 3-5 more groups to take pictures. The older man that was letting people in told me I had to take a picture. Why was I being forced to take a picture I didn't want???She was very rude, condescending and unprofessional. Her tone was that if I didn't want pictures I would have to wait until she was ALL finished with those that did want them taken! We were a party of nine and had out of town guests with us. As we approached our table to be seated, my daughter told the young man that was seating us, and he said he would convey this to the manager. Never saw him. I'm sure you could care, less which is sad. What a racket to try and intimidate people into taking pictures!!! Shame on her and your establishment for participating in such practices! Oh as we were leaving I figured out why... 20.00 a pic!!! Show was good, food was just ok. But our evening had started out bad already.

Thank You Christine Fronckoski

The owner can spin it how he likes. Bottom line, poor management. WE NEVER CUT IN LINE!!! They took people who came in the door while others were already waiting. Chaos! Owners response is not true.

Oh and they were advised that I had two handicap people with me! It is on my reservation! And he never sent me a video! These are horrible, horrible owners. I feel so sad for the employees. He must treat them like...

The layout of the tables was longitudinal not facing the stage. *And, the space for each setting had every single person crushed in as sardines. Every person had to get up to allow the person next to them to get in or to get out. *Cramped to the max. *Had the tables been placed horizontally, then the front people at each table could have turned their chairs to face forward when the show began. *As it was, people were moving their heads in or out to view the show. Not conducive to enjoying the show’s performance. * The Heat from the Fire from the show had some people uncomfortable has it became an irritant to their eyes, even though safe distances were in place. The ventilation was not apparent. The food was not the best quality and was lukewarm at best. Variety was not apparent. Quantity was not sufficient. No Polynesian authentic food to appreciate the culture. There was no system to get the food, haphazardly organized for entering the food area or exiting the food area. People were intrusive beyond their control to move freely without interruption through the food line or returning to their designated table. Patrons should have been given water or iced tea at their tables by servers since this added to the interruption of the food lines areas. Not conducive to smooth people traffic areas. Had the buffet area been situated in another area to give more room to people traffic movement, or a systematic method of going to get the food been in place this would have reduced people’s uneasiness of the confusion. No ceiling fans over dining tables. Ventilation-air flow was not apparent. I would not recommended this place for future consideration. It was a Once in a...

Overall a really fun experience! Music/Dinner starts at 6:00 with doors opening at 5:30. Once seated it was announced buffet was open with no directions on how to proceed so everyone stampeded to the food. Plates were at the end of one of two buffet stations so a very long line formed. Would have been better if it were done in a more controlled manner so there wasn't 100 people all trying to rush the food. Like at a wedding tables are called. Still get fed at same speed, just less crowding and aggravation. The dinner was just so-so and was very lacking in Hawaiian theme with standard buffet items. No pineapple/ham, poke, coconut, or other Polynesian style dishes. Now for the good... they had a Polynesian band play music while we ate. The master of ceremonies was really good with explaining the culture and music, and occasionally threw in some good comedy. Made for a really nice dinner making up for the so-so dinner. But then when the main act took to the stage, we were totally amazed. First of all, the band was phenomenal!!! The percussion was amazing, and the group was so tight. And the voices with the island chants was so good. And then all of the different performers from the hula dancers to the fire sword dancers was amazing! The show moved right along with no pauses between acts, and the MC again did a fabulous job! So if you are reading this trying to decide if you want to go or not, I say GO!!! We got this as a gift from our son and I might not have gone otherwise. So glad we did!

This was our 5th time enjoying the Polynesian Fire Luau, but our very first visit to the new location in Daytona Beach. We used to go when it was held at the Hawaiian Inn, and while we always had a great time there, we have to say the new venue is a huge step up! It’s much bigger, more spacious, and the stage is easier to see from anywhere in the room. The host, Jorel (apologies if I’m spelling it wrong), has been there since our very first luau years ago, and he’s still just as warm, friendly, and entertaining as ever. He really sets the tone for the evening. The rest of the staff is also wonderful—attentive, helpful, and always making you feel welcome, just like in all our past visits. The show itself never disappoints. We keep coming back, and whenever we have friends or family visiting Daytona for the first time, this is one of the must-do experiences we bring them to. Even after several visits, we still enjoy it as much as the first time. The buffet food is tasty and filling, though we did notice it can be a bit challenging for guests with food allergies. On this visit, we brought our niece, who unfortunately couldn’t eat much since she reacted to the options available. She still loved the show, but it’s something to keep in mind if you or your guests have dietary restrictions. Overall, the Polynesian Fire Luau continues to be one of our favorite things to do in Daytona Beach. Great food, amazing performances, and a welcoming atmosphere—highly recommend!
