Nicely surprised. The menu isn’t huge which allows them to concentrate on the quality of their offerings. Everything doesn’t have to be pre-prepared and rewarmed to come out quickly from the kitchen when you concentrate on entrees that can be assembled fresh quickly. Yet they have a menu that has inventive and interesting components. Our waitress was super friendly and attentive. The hostess was friendly and found us the perfect table. Even the artwork on the walls was unique and had a flavor of Mexico City - not the typical northern Mexican cantina. It had much more sophistication like you might find in an upscale restaurant in Mexico City. The whole place seems to have been put together with some thought and care.

Amazing place!! Highly recommended. Food, drinks, and service all excellent! Came for restaurant week; we were able to be seated immediately in the beautiful outside patio. Free chips and salsa! Had margaritas and pina colada and nachos for apps; steak tacos and burritos for dinner; fried ice cream for dessert--had 1 serving for 3! THEN free after dinner drinks! WOW! All very flavorful and freshly made. Definitely preferred outside seating to inside. Overall great experience for our first time-- we will be back this summer!

They give you a buzzer when you put your name in. Ours wasn't working, but instead of walking over to tell us the table was ready or calling the name, they just stood there and waited for us to realize it was taking too long. The service was otherwise okay, although a little odd, which I would attribute to youth and inexperience. Tacos were good, but I am wondering how they make the chips so vibrantly red. It's probably the red dye that is illegal in most states and the EU.

After hearing some good things about this place I was eager to try it. Before I get into he details, I will say the service was solid and the place is very clean and well kept.

That said, our party of 3 was pretty disappointed by the experience. The house margaritas taste like an "off" kool-aid mix with tequila added. These did not really taste at all like a standard margarita. We tried the specialty margarita for the second round and while it was better, it still wasn't even close to some of he better ones I have had at other Mexican restaurants, or made at home even.

I had the steak fajitas, which were good, but nothing special. My wife had both a Cajun shrimp and steak street taco. The steak one was good, but the shrimp taco lacked any flavor. We both had sides of black beans, which were blah and not edible for the most part. My son had the Cali burrito. It too lacked flavor and we too salty. He also had a side of refried beans which were WAY too salty. Salty to the point of being bitter.

Overall we ended up spending over $100 for the 3 of us. Way too much considering the quality. I usually give a place 3 tries, but the menu is pretty limited with choices and frankly most of the items don't look all that interesting, so I doubt we will come back. I rarely order fajitas at a Mexican restaurant, and that's the only thing on the menu that looked good to me.

Sorry this could not have been better. This is not close to being Mexican food. It's kinda like Chi Chi's - Americanized food that is supposed to look Mexican. I suggest you try somewhere else if you are looking for...

I’m working in town from Milwaukee, and maybe I’m just spoiled with excellent Mexican restaurants in the city, but this was a disappointment. I came alone based on a family recommendation, I sat at the bar, and the bartender was great. Very attentive and good conversation. I asked for a Michelada and was just given a Dos Equis with some tomato juice in it. I agreed, but it definitely wasn’t what I was craving, and what I’m used to.

I asked for HOT salsa with the chips, and she brought be a green sauce from the kitchen. It had zero flavor, and I think regular salsa was hotter. She took it back.

After looking at the menu, I decided on the “cali” burrito. I’m not going to knock portion sizes because this burrito was gigantic, but upon my first bite I got a very large piece of gristle in the chicken. I had two more bites to give it a chance, but got another piece of gristle. I wasn’t going to continue. Inedible, and the chicken tasted like the stuff you get frozen, precooked/precut in a bag at a grocery store. I told the bartender that I wasn’t going to eat anymore. I paid for my drink, tipped and left. Maybe I just came on a bad night, but I likely won’t be back here again. Two stars because the bartender was great, she didn’t charge me for my burrito, and she...

I start this review by saying I have been coming here for a years! I moved out of state and finally got back and thought i’d come back to my old favorite dinner place. I was absolutely shocked by the verbal abuse witnessed by the Manager Jake while at dinner. This manager rudely insulted and make gross jokes at the female employees and even made 1 cry! Absolutely not okay at all! My daughter cried because of how disgusting this attitude was and being someone who works for a humanitarian organization I needed to report this to the state. Absolutely unacceptable and made me feel extremely uncomfortable. As for our server she was great although she was teary eyed and food was well! Enchiladas were very good! Unfortunately due to this disgusting behavior of the so called Manager I will no longer be coming here! In 35 years of humanitarian work in the state this is the WORST I have ever seen! I called to report and was hung up on 2 times! I hope the owner gets this fixed as this is not okay! My team and I will be working on a report and this place will be included for our state legislature to review! 10/10 DO NOT RECOMMEND! I am sorry if this review is grammatically bad but I was crying while making this as I cannot believe...
