I've been looking at this place for my wedding cupcakes though I'd never actually tried their product. I did over the weekend and to say I was disappointed is an understatement. But first, I'll go over what I did like. Whoever got my order together was great and even made replacements when they were out of an item. The cupcakes were BEAUTIFUL. Adorable really. The packaging they came in was sturdy and nothing moved even when it was being delivered by a service.
Here's the thing, these cupcakes are homemade. A lot of bakery's use boxed cakes and add flour to the recipe to make it more dense. Cupcake Couture has homemade cake and you can really tell. While the flavor is wonderful the actual texture of the cake is horrible. It's super dry, very dense. The cupcakes are pretty small for $3 however they're SUPER rich because there's a massive amount of buttercream/icing on each cake. The icing was way too sweet and took over the entire cupcake. The filling was actually pretty small some of them were kind of odd and didn't make sense. Overall, it wasn't the cake for me. If you go in to this place thinking they're going to be light and fluffy cakes then you're wrong. but that's also because they actually make their cakes homemade rather than using a boxed cake and "tweaking" it. The flavors were really good but they personally don't fit my idea for my wedding. Their chocolate cupcakes were a little more moist than their vanilla, so I'd definitely suggest trying a chocolate cupcake if it's your first time...
Read moreWas very upset with the outcome of my daughter's birthday cupcakes. I had giving them a picture of what I wanted and they agreed they'd be able to make it happen. Turns out the couldn't, when I went to pick up the cupcakes they were all wrapped up in a box so I couldn't even see them right away and tell them what I thought. Picked them up on Thursday couldn't open them till Saturday on her birthday afraid they wouldn't stay fresh from what they told me. My cupcakes were suppose to have superhero badges on them and only TWO! Cupcakes had the badges and that was supergirl and wonderwoman. The rest they made their own theme too them I couldn't even figure out which cupcake was representing which superhero because they were that bad of a big mess. On top of that her cupcakes were $100 for 30 and they didn't even call or email me to tell me they wouldn't be able to do what I had in mind and that they would have to switch it up and do what they were only capable of! So lack of communication, I wish they would of been honest so we could've come to an agreement on the designs or I would have went somewhere else. I paid $100 for cupcakes that looked NOTHING like I had originally ordered or even close to it! Don't get me wrong their fresh cupcakes are delicious but I will not be going back here for that kind of work again. My daughters cakes have been $60 for the last 3 yrs and we're always outstanding and more at other bakeries. This was a...
Read morePrior to meeting with Taylor Pierce, owner of The Cupcake Couture, we had ordered a couple “test run” cakes from another bakery that had come highly recommended. That other bakery did not rise to the occasion and, sadly, said that our unique design simply was not possible. We had a vision… we had faith in the vision… we had the great fortune of meeting with Taylor Pierce, owner of The Cupcake Couture. When we told Taylor about our unique cake design, we were waiting for her to laugh at us or something… instead, she responded with, “sure, I can do that”. So, we ordered a “test run” cake and I cannot even find the words that capture our satisfaction. The actual wedding cake was exactly what we were hoping for, as far as the design, and the cake was delicious, too!!! For future reference, if a baker ever tells you that it is not possible to substitute the frosting between the layers of the cake with pie filling… tell them that Taylor Pierce, owner of The Cupcake Couture, can do it! Thank you, Taylor, for an awesome cake!!! Todd &...
