Gyro Kabobs — Restaurant in De Pere

Had lunch with co-worker and we dined in. I have been here before and it has always been mediocre at best but I love gyros so we go here a few times/year because it's the closest around. Perhaps I am not ordering right because I see lots of 5-star and I just don't get it! Here is the breakdown:

FOOD: 1 star

Lamb Gyros: They are big but DRY and FLAVORLESS. They need to toast the bread but they don't :( Also, skip the lettuce...never seen that on a gyro and I always forget to tell them to leave it off. Traditionally it should be meat, onions, tomatoes, and feta cheese (for the really nice gyros) + yogurt sauce. Ate 1/4 of the sandwich and threw out the rest. Not worth the calories.

Greek Fries - They were awful. Soggy & no flavor. Certainly seemed like they were sitting around for a while then refried. I ate one fry and thought my mouth must be making a mistake because my eyes told me they were REALLY GOOD but my mouth said they are REALLY BAD. Ate 2-3 more fries to be sure and threw out the rest.

Food Appearance - 5 Stars - I know this is shocking but the food (Gyro & Greek Fries) really did look very good.

Beer - Small but nice selection of beers.

PRICE: 4 stars - you get a lot of food for the money - just not sure it's worth eating!

ATMOSPHERE: 2 stars - dingy, dark, and not very pleasant but appeared...

Walked in the worker did not say one word to me while i was waiting yo order five mins when i go to order the guy got mad and started yelling make your mind up as he was making food he never had gloves of hairnet i seen him scratching his head 🙃 then speards the fetti cheese by hand then got mad when told him to put gloves as he was touching money and scratching his head. I told him ill give him bad review hes said go ahead hes been there fifteen years and he has regulars i ask him does he own this place he said no the owner went for a walk . The money i gave came from the gas station where the homeless guy just got a coffe in front of me which i got his money in return . Nothing against him but this was the money i handing the worker which never qash his hands and scratching dry head with dandruff then spead cheese smh then got so mad at me . .all in front of my two...

EVERYTHING is fantastic here. My family has tried most of the menu and everything has been really good. Our go-to is the Italian Beef though. For those of you who are familiar with Portillo's, this is the closest I've ever found outside of Chicagoland. In the greater Green Bay area, this is literally hands down the best Italian Beef around and it isn't close. I've tried Beef's at over 15 other places in the area and NONE can hold a candle to Gryo Kabobs. Other favorites: the Chili is nice and meaty, Greek Fries are real good, Chili Cheese Fries are great when we want to feel like pigs and you simply can't go wrong with the Gyros. To top it all off, the guys that work there are always nice and friendly! Go get yourself and Italian Beef! It is sloppy...
