Uncle Ray's Place — Restaurant in Dearborn Heights

Went there on a saturday, waitress came pretty quick, we had a our drinks and placed our order in a timely manner. Problem was she never came back to the table. Had to get our 2nd drink from the bar, even when I got up to tell her we needed another round. Mind you there are 4 of us. We were with our wives. Then at least 40 minutes after placing our order, she came up and wanted to verify our order? I asked if she even put it in yet and she said yes. Then why ask? Then found someone to talk to, owner, manager, not sure didnt introduce there self. Said waitress was new and that there were wi fi problems so the order didnt go thru. A bunch of excuses, just own up to it. We just wanted to eat! Anyway once they made the food it was quick and delicious. No complaints other then the total service. When our group arrived no one seated or seemed to acknowledge us even though we had a reservation for 8. Finally they just said sit where you want. I know they were busy with an an even larger group but still…Then the food: I ordered the Uncle Ray Slider plate because I wanted fries instead of chips. The sliders which in most places are very soft and moist were hard as hockey pucks. The “sautéed onions” were so minimal that they were able to hide under my pickle! Even the ketchup tasted like it had added vinegar. Also the menu is misleading. It states a certain kind of fish as a daily special but it’s only on one day/ week. (Fridays?) A group of friends stopped in here on a Thursday night. 10 people turned into 15 people fast in a relatively small bar. The limited wait staff and bartender were very gracious and attentive to all the drink orders and large order of appetizers we placed. Everything was served in a timely manner. All food was very good and inexpensive. There is keno, pull tabs, slots, and AMI music jukebox. There is also an outside smoking patio to hang out on to enjoy the summer weather. Everybody had a great night here. Thanks to the staff at Uncle Ray's; I know the large group walking in was a lot of work but you did great and many of us will probably return due to your great service...
