Farooj Grill & Sandwiches. — Restaurant in Dearborn

It is not often that I share my experiences with food/ restaurant businesses, but after what transpired last night, I am more than I delighted to express my sincere gratitude and highlight the outstanding customer service I received from Farooj Grill & Sandwiches. It was my first time trying it out, and rest assured, it won't be the last!

I had placed a late-night order through Instacart (powered by UberEats ), and even though I got a notification saying it was delivered early, my order never showed up. No photo, no drop-off -nothing. I was upset, confused, and had no idea what to do... so l decided to call the restaurant directly and take a chance.

The gentleman who answered happened to be one of the owners, and he gave me the best customer service I've experienced in a long time. He called me back multiple times throughout the incident to follow up, and even went out of his way to personally call Uber's customer service to report the issue on my behalf-something I didn't even expect him to do and without me asking him to.

During those moments, I was feeling so frustrated and defeated-not only had I lost money, but I wasn't going to get any food. Then, within seconds of that phone call, I received notification from my bank that my entire order had been refunded. And just as I was about to send a thank-you message, the owner called me again-showing care, urgency, and due diligence-letting me know that my new order was already on its way.

My original order was placed at 1:03 a.m., and by 1:50 a.m., the restaurant had remade it, ensured my refund, and even though the restaurant itself doesn't offer delivery as a service, the owner still had someone deliver it straight to my door- hot & fresh.

The remake was exactly what I had ordered: chicken shawarma with light pickles, except as for the drink, Hussein offered a Mixed Berry smoothie instead of the Pineapple Berry smoothie since he used the last of the pineapple fruit on my original order. Instead, l opted for the Mango Blast, another flavor on their menu. From the first sip, the mango smoothie was delicious and refreshing like, seriously so good! I was genuinely impressed with the chicken shawarma. It was warm, flavorful, and fresh-especially for 2 AM. I'm not a food critic, but l'm a picky eater, so trust me, when I say it tasted like a classic shawarma done just right.

First time I walked in I did so by mistake (thinking it was still Madirin). Thank god I ordered anyways though! This is now my third time visiting this place, Food is top notch, seriously never disappoints. I always go for the grilled chicken sub add cheese, the bread is fresh and the perfect size (soft and thinner compared to other sub shops in the area…) and chicken always taste perfectly seasoned and cooked, the cheese is the good melty kind that oozes out, top it off with fresh lettuce, fresh tasting tomato slices and pickles (and by the way the veggies are placed on top and not crammed in their like most other places where the veggies get warm and nasty) and you got yourself the best sub in Dearborn seriously. Portion size is great too, prize is decent and the service is always very friendly and welcoming. My order was up in less than 10, minutes with several other customers inside and was hot, fries crispy and perfectly seasoned. Seriously underrated place. I have always found myself fascinated by the intricacies of life. Baseball rules. Chess strategies. Relationships. Born a small shepard boy, of even smaller stature, my experiences have been meek, and my confidence, miniature. This would soon be transformed forever. As soon as I walked into the restaurant, I was rendered helpless to the fragrances of pickles, bread, and chicken: oh the chicken! Fresh ingredients filled the air, and for a moment, I understood why. I realized the values of hard work, dedication, and experienced a joy akin to only my early days ay the farm. The staff were warm, but incomparable to the heat of the Spicy Chickeb Shawarma I'd ordered to fill my stomach. If only I knew that it would do much more, satisfying my hunger, but more so, my worldly desires as a man. As a shepard boy. As a shawarma eater, jovial in all his pickly delight. My eyes let me see.
