Not only is the food wonderful, the presentation is just beautiful. Not what one would expect from a Coney Island restaurant. The owners both work in their restaurant and are totally invested in their business. The atmosphere is friendly and makes a person want to come back again.
We went to the Top Dog for breakfast this morning and once again, it did not disappoint! The portions were way more than I could eat and the presentation was just as beautiful for breakfast as for lunch as it was before. The hash browns were sliced very thin instead of shredded which I believe made them more tasty! Breakfast was delicious! They have been in existence in Dearborn for forty years as is commemorated by sweat shirts, hoodies, long sleeve shirts, and tshirts for men and women. Very nice quality. Great Christmas gifts! No help from anyone, the city, federal aid, the media all turned a blind eye SHAMEFUL. The perfect snap of Dearborn Brand Hotdogs Wonderful, on Wednesday a special for decades packin the place. Full breakfast and lunch menu, open M-F 7 am till 3 pm only. Just Ma & Pa and one employee all they can afford to keep the doors open. Loved the Chicken n Dumplings Soup n Onion Rings. Read moreFor years now, Ive occasionally stopped at this place and am a fan of the old diner style Coney Island burger joints. But sadly, my most recent visit was just frustrating and disappointing. Perhaps they were just having a bad day, or someone called in sick, I don't know, but yikes! Sitting at a sticky table, surrounded by other non bussed tables, waiting 40mins for a dried out cheese burger and soggy onion rings, with only 1 other customer in the place... Well, when the burger arrived tough and way over cooked, the impression left from that visit wasn't great. I'll go back, and I hope they can redeem themselves to some of that former Top Dog glory they once claimed. Till then... that dog has to take it's place somewhere other...
