The Original Anthony's Pizza — Restaurant in DeBary

I called in this evening to place an order, the gentleman over the phone took my name and order And told me would me it would be ready in 20 minutes. I arrive a few minutes early so sat in the parking lot and finished a phone call. When I walked in I stood waiting for a few minutes for a young lady behind the register To decide to wait on me, after she gave me her attention and asked my name she told me that there was no order for me, I was sure I hade ordered from this place So I looked at the phone number on the menu and walked out to my truck and looked at my call log, as I was looking at my phone a gentleman tapped on my window who I believe is the owner and told me that he had taken my order and when he hung up realized I was calling from a blocked number so decided I was probably a prank phone call, he then started arguing with me and talking to me very rudely and discourteous. I believe this is the wrong way to treat your customers and I suggest taking your business to someone who treats their customers with respect. I have since found out this place changes hands very frequently so you never really know who the owner is at this location and those are not the kind of places I want to give my business to. I recommend Angelinas Pizza a few miles towards Deland or Cafe Positano towards Sanford if your looking for more great pizza and respect as a customer.

1. if you don’t take orders from blocked numbers then why did you take my complete order and then tell me it would be ready in 20 minutes.
2. why haven’t you adopted the pokicy most ALL pizza places have and your first two questions are “can I please have a name for the order” “ can I please have a number for the order”
3. you are not the original owner, when I left your restaurant I went to The Original Anthony’s in Deland and spoke to the gentleman who used to own that location, then opened Ue Springs Pizza and now owns The Original Anthoneys, plus there is another review talking about how customer service and quality has declined since you bought and took over and how you refused to honor coupons from the previous owner. 4th and lastly you were very rude, had you truly grown up in customer service you would have adopted better skills and not follow a customer into the parking lot and knocked on my window to argue with me about how much it costs you to make a pizza and how much you pay people, I simply walked out when I was told I had no order there, you followed me into the parking lot in the rain to argue with me, you lied about being the original owner and you have continued to lie, there is review and review about how you are a rude owner who argues with customers and how the service, quality and customer service has declined since you started running the place. Will NOT be ordering from them again. Made my order online. Once an hour had passed, I called to make sure that my order had gone through. I was assured that it had been received and was out for delivery. Called them back after 30 minutes and they said the driver was right around the corner. A few minutes later they called back and said all their drivers were back at the shop. After nearly 2 hours, 3 phones calls and finally a little investigating, they realized they had NOT received my order. After speaking with the manager he told me they are new to the online order process and I agreed to put in a new order as I understand there is a learning curve with new procedure. I gave him my new order and he wanted to know how I would like to pay. This is when I got upset. I’ve now waited 2 hours, made 3 phone calls and you still want to charge me full price? No thanks, I’ll go somewhere else with better customer service. Response First and foremost, your customer service is awful! I’ve read other reviews and you always blame the customer. Sometimes, they are to blame, sometimes they are not. I’ve worked in customer service for quite a long time and this is NOT good customer service. Second, when I spoke to you on the phone I told you that the FIRST time I called I told the girl on the phone that it was an online order and I was calling to confirm my order had gone through. I also told her that I didn’t receive a confirmation email and she still assured me it was out for delivery. Third, I did NOT ask for free food but I do believe a discount should have been given in this case. I had to wait TWO hours for a small Stromboli that I never received! And now you're arguing with me....

We discovered Anthony's Original Pizza in DeBary, Florida, completely by chance during our disc golf trip last year. After a long day on the course, we stumbled into this cozy, storybook pizza spot and instantly fell in love. It’s the kind of place you dream of finding—authentic, warm, and absolutely incredible food.

This year, we planned our entire trip just to make sure we could return to Anthony's for another amazing experience. And wow, it did not disappoint. Not only was the pizza still as incredible as we remembered, but to our surprise, Tiffany, the same server who helped us last year, was there again! Her kindness, attention to detail, and remarkable memory blew us away. She recognized us immediately as "the disc golf guys" and even mentioned that she’d been talking about us with another employee recently. It’s rare to meet someone who makes you feel so welcome and remembered after just one visit a year ago. Tiffany is truly one-of-a-kind and made the experience even more special.

As for the food—words can't do it justice. We tried the Double Decker Stuffed Crust pizza this time, and it was hands-down one of the best pizzas we’ve ever had. A pizza on top of a pizza, stuffed to perfection, and absolutely massive. Every bite was pure heaven. It was super filling and perfect for sharing after another long day of disc golf.

Anthony's is more than just a pizza place for us—it’s become a tradition. We’ll definitely be back next year, and we can’t wait to see Tiffany again and enjoy another incredible meal. If you’re ever in the area, do yourself a favor and visit Anthony's. You...
