Reached out to this place for a scion xb purple and drove almost 2 hours to go see the car. Car was in amazing condition considering it had 250,000 miles on it. When trying to contact my insurance to ensure the vehicle, they advised me that the title was salvaged. I advised sales guy of this information and he made a call because he had stated that he had no idea that the title was salvage and he had just got it from the auction like two days before. He called up the purchase & gave him a grade A azz chewing but I am not sure how real that was… I told him I had no problem with the car being salvaged however I wanted to know why it was salvaged & if a Carfax could be given. Sales guy told me to wait while he makes some calls and see if there could be a deal made regarding a price adjustment because the asking price was what the car went for if it was a clean title. I left location and gained a call a couple hours later from the owner of the business because from what I was told when I left, the sales guy would work something out with the owner in regards to a price change to reflect salvage title that they were supposedly unaware of.
When I got the call from the owner, I think his name was Octavio. He asked me what I think the price should be. I explained to him that I actually just so happen to have been in a car accident in the same exact model scion xb that had 100,000 miles (150,000 less miles then this one) and it to was salvaged 10 years prior to me buying it. I was involved in this second accident while I owned it totaled it out again and insurance paid out on the claim for $2600. I told him I would be willing to pay that mount since that is the true value. His asking price was $4200 not including tax & title. After explaining that to him he advised me that he was not going to change his price at all and that because it was tax season Somebody will pay the price that he wants. I then asked him why he called me because from what I was told, he was calling me to come up with a number that would be comfortable for both of us for this car that was salvage title, which originally was presented as a clean title. He stated that he could let it go for $3800 not including tax & fees (which reduced the price maybe $200) he stated he is going to keep the same price that he had even knowing the new information that was brought to his attention.
At that point I told him “well If that is how you do business then that’s the juju on you”. I thanked him for his call & went on with my car search. Based on that situation I can’t say I can trust this dealer with any purchase in the...
Read moreBUYER BEWARE!! Purchased a 2008 Chevy Tahoe, really clean on the inside. Nice family car, sounds good, right? My husband and dad went asked a few questions about the auto stop on it - it drove smooth, no issues that day - and the salesman named Jesse said that its normal for the complete stop and shut down which is fine. The AC was nice and cool, no issues. Yes, we know its a used car, has miles on it... not even a week later - 3 DAYS LATER the AC goes out. Stops working cold turkey... My husband writes Vlad says that the AC went and it hasn't been a week because when my husband and dad were at the dealership they swore up and down that nothing was wrong knowing that it was going to be a vehicle for a family... he said that there's no worries that they have mechanic shop and tire shop so if there's ANY issues to bring it back to them and they would help... all Vlad said was that it was a used car and that it was the fan blower. We brought it to our guys Deland Transmission (Best guys ever! Ask for Sammy or Josh) and they fixed it right away along with a minor door lock problem. We got it back a few days later, AC was working again. A few days after we are driving and the car just shuts off and will not go into gear on a busy HIGHWAY... had to bring it back to our guys and they gave us some news... Our wonderful car that worked so well, has no issues (SUPPOSEDLY) now needs a TRANSMISSION... A TRANSMISSION... A FRIGGIN TRANSMISSION. They also were giving us a hard time with the registration and even said that there was going to be no more money involved, but of course there was... and they said that they would give us an extra key fob which took them 2 weeks to get... HORRIBLE BUSINESS, HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE... They literally know they have trash vehicles and still have the audacity to sell them! DO NOT BOTHER GOING TO THIS TRASH DEALERSHIP. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME, YOUR MONEY AND DO NOT BELIEVE ANYTHING THAT THEY SAY! THEY ARE LIARS! Its really sad because some people are not very fortunate to be able to fix their car every week because LITERALLY every single week since Ive had this car, its been in the shop. This dealership should be embarrassed and ashamed of themselves... they shouldn't have a business if they are going to be...
Read moreFirst of all if you're reading this then you've probably already read the few 1 star reviews on Car Factory. I'm here to tell you that they're bullshit.
I came in to buy a 2013 Scion FRS with only 70k miles and at first I was confused why such a gem would be listed so low till I saw it. For the record I came with my mechanic father. The exterior is beautiful but there were some things done to the car that would require some TLC, namely the interior needed some slight cleaning, modifications were done on the car such as a muffler delete, spoiler bolt on, lowered suspension, the brake lights didn't work, engine oil needed changing, and someone cut the wiring??Meaning no horn or panic button but what I was mainly concerned about was a scratching sound when driving and a knocking sound from the engine which I feared was rod knock.
With that being said, Manny mentioned each of these things and was very transparent hence the low price and lowered the price even more when my mechanic father had noted the lack of a brake light. We had one gripe with the car and that was the brake lights as well as the scratching/knocking sound and requested that it be fixed before we committed. After depositing around $500 Manny took it to his mechanic the very next day, fixed the brake light and found out the cause of the sound, even sending me videos of underneath the car which showed that the cause was the lowered suspension causing the grinding noise. Fixing this would require changing the entire suspension which is something Car Factory does not do so they lowered the price even more.
Honestly, I respect the business, they are very clear about their business model. They buy old used cars and sell them with minimal refurbishing.
THESE ARE NOT NEWER PERFECTLY UNDRIVEN CARS AND THEY'RE NOT GOING TO MAKE IT FEEL NEW EITHER.
You get what you pay for, Car Factory specializes in selling older cars. Look at what you're buying, know what you're buying or the only person you have to blame is yourself, you are buying as is. I have fixed most of the issues on my car myself for a fraction of the price and confirmed that the knocking sound is not rod knock. Now I have a beautiful Scion FRS with low miles that I would not have found anywhere else for...
