*Update 1/20/2020 and 1/23/2020
I thought I'd give it another chance because I just needed a quick wash. BIG mistake! I went into the first automatic stall because the other one was occupied. My card went through no problem (or course, the money taker NEVER fails) I pulled up into the wash, the wash started, sprayed ONLY the front of my car (not even up to the windshield) moved back to starting position then the instruction sign said "Please exit slowly" Are you kidding me?!?!?!? Since there is no way to get a hold of the owner' I called Paypal and filed a dispute; that's the card I used. Paypal reversed the charge. Today, 1/23/2020, Debary Car Wash charged me AGAIN for having the charge reversed because they still have my card info.THIS IS FRAUD! I called Paypal and they reversed the charge again and blocked Debary Car wash from taking it again in the future
Back to the story: So I pulled around to the 2nd auto booth which appeared to be functional and went through successfully. However, it left so much crap on my car and didn't even thoroughly wash it. My back window still had dust and pollen on it. I then had to go to Orange City and paid $16 at Sp0rty's and got a 100% better wash.*
This place has gone to hell since it first opened. The vacuums suck but not the way they are supposed to. The scents to freshen your car have not been refilled for a couple of years. We just paid at the 2nd automatic stall. Machine took our $10 but it never changed from the "please wait" sign and the car wash never started. Don't bother calling the number on the sign, it just rings and rings. I doubt the "comments and suggestion" box is ever opened.
I live in Debary but I drive to Orange City to pay $16 to get a real car wash where there are people to help you if there's an issue.
I suggest you pass this one up and find another place to get your...
Read moreIt is worth noting that this is the former “DeBary Car Wash” (DeBary Touchless Wash) under completely new ownership, with completely new tooling and machinery, and it couldn’t be more different than the old trash pit that used to be in this same location. As of July 31, 2025, please know that Salty Dog Car Wash in DeBary comes HIGHLY recommended!
Speaking specifically to the touchless carwash machine, I have never seen one so new, so well maintained, and so “generous” in my life. Water is truly high pressure, soap and suds are in abundance, the liquid wax and foam are almost excessive (in a good way), and the dry time is very generous. If you care about your vehicle, you know that in a pinch, a touchless wash is the only way to go. This one is by far the best I have ever seen.
Note to Ownership: Please continue to keep this location pristine and well maintained and car enthusiasts in the area will reward you with loyalty. I stopped going to the previous location here and started driving to Happy Bays in Sanford for a touchless because the previous owners let this place go down the drain (whilst continuing to take peoples money). This place is stunning and the touchless machine washed two different vehicles of mine (one large luxury sedan, another large truck) extraordinarily well. I couldn’t be more pleased.
5/5 stars for Salty Dog Car Wash in DeBary, I truly couldn’t be more thrilled and more happy you guys have revamped and renewed...
Read moreI’m a local here in DeBary, and I’m genuinely glad we have a hands-on carwash option in town—it’s a welcome alternative to other competitors. The equipment is modern and well-installed, which I appreciate. That said, there are a few issues worth mentioning.
The money changer and small drive-thru aren’t operational yet, which limits convenience. I used the card option and hit the full $20 limit, but the system automatically shut off—which felt abrupt. I had to use a second card just to access the dryer. While the dryer setup is cool, it’s not as powerful as expected. I used it to finish drying my 2025 Tesla Y in 4 minutes and was charged $10 for it. That brought my total to $30 for a wash that, in my opinion, was decent—but overpriced.
It’s fine for a quick rinse, but for a proper clean, it’s not cost-effective. My suggestion: consider extending the drying time to 5 minutes for $3. The current 3-minute window isn’t cutting it. Appreciate the effort, but there’s definitely room for...
