Panera Bread — Restaurant in Decatur

I submit order and instead of your website or even staff saying it isn't ready yall let me waste my time waiting longer and no staff coming to correct it or come talk to me letting me know the bread wasn't available. Instead I see my order go from prepping to ready. At that point figured it's busy so I'll wait a few. No orderes come out after 5 more minutes so I went to the counter. They informed me no bread option I selected. So I call and ask my mom what she wants and she gave two options. At that point they say no and I said then just cancel the order since my mom didn't want sour dough bread. I then stated yall should update your website and cancel my order. A few minutes later they call my phone and they inform my wife that I was angry customer. Umm no I said update your website and cancel order. They then tell my wife they can make the food...if it was that simple how come they couldn't then ?!? The bread magically appear?! Just a joke. Yall are gas lighting. Panera was one of my favorite restaurants, but no longer. I'm not sure what has happened, but there has been a real decline over the last year. On each of my last few visits, there has been a problem. This time, no egg for the Spinach Salad. That's not as bad as the visit when they didn't have strawberries for the Strawberry Poppyseed Salad. At least this time they informed me when I ordered it.

They've just remodeled and everything looks bright, open, and new. Unfortunately, the carpet needed to be swept. There were potato chips under our booth and I noticed other areas had similar problems. It was pretty empty and it seems as though someone could have tended to that. The rest of the place looked pretty clean.

The food was good, but the portion size has shrunk once more. For the price of our meal, we could have gone to a sit-down restaurant, been waited on, and not been expected to bus our tables like a high...

I am a frequent visitor of Panera, so to walk in to this one and see it completely filthy was quite shocking. Most of the tables were dirty with food remnants, there was food all over the floors, trash build up in the cans sitting at the front door, empty coffee bins, the soda machine was absolutely disgusting and to top it off, the staff was standing behind the counter gossiping instead of greeting guests. After seeing the dirty restaurant, no way would I ever order anything to eat here. I looked for a manager, but didn’t see one in sight. I’m assuming that’s why the staff wasn’t/hasn’t maintained the upkeep of the restaurant. Sad because I was one of the first employees hired at this store about 17 years ago before moving away, and the place was immaculate.
