8 Mile Meadow Bread & Pasta — Restaurant in Deep River

I'm that type of person who loves sourdough bread. I even frequent restaurants that serve sourdough bread. Recently, I started buying loaves of sourdough at a wonderful little farm in Chester, then decided to go directly to the bakery that makes it for them, which is 8 Mile Meadow Bread & Pasta in Deep River. They call it their "Vermont Sourdough".

It is, without a doubt, the best, most flavorful sourdough I've ever had - amazing stuff. And when wrapped carefully, it lasts much longer than other commercially made and marketed sourdough loaves, which tend to become brick-hard pretty quickly.

I can't say enough about how wonderful 8 Mile Meadow's sourdough bread is - excellent!! I come all the way from Guilford for it. Now I'd better shut up, so they don't run out before I get...

I absolutely love this place and the staff! Every time I walk in and order pasta, they hand-cut it right on the spot. There's no attitude here—just friendly faces that make you feel like family. The breads are incredible, and I feel so lucky to have such a wonderful local gem nearby. The red pepper pasta is simply the best....

Some of the best bread I have had...comparable to Hungry Ghost in Northampton and Standard Bakery in Portland ME. Not just bread, great scones, cookies and sweet rolls.
