El Bracero — Restaurant in Deep River

BLUF: This is the best Mexican street food in CT, and possibly all of the east coast.

I’ve lived in CA for years and had Mexican street food from essentially every spot of note in the San Diego and Los Angeles area. This is as good, if not better, than any spot I’ve had, and it’s LEAGUES better than anything else in New England. The owner(?)/manager I met is from Oaxaca and wanted to bring authentic food to the area, and they did not disappoint.

El Bracero food is SOOOOO GOOOOD! We loved the tacos so much we just stuck to ordering those (Gringo Taco and Street Taco) for several orders, but finally ventured on to try other dishes, like the deep fried Chicken Quesadillas, the Fajita Bowls, and the Birria Burrito. Tried El Bracero for the first time today and was absolutely blown away. Hands down the best Mexican spot I've found in Connecticut so far. The service was fantastic — the staff was super friendly, helpful, and made us feel right at home. Everything was fresh, made to order, and bursting with flavor. We ordered a bunch of different dishes to try, and every single one was a hit. If you're looking for true, authentic Mexican cuisine, this is the spot. I’ll probably be back...
