Deep River Ice — Restaurant in Deep River

I NEED A FAVOR and ONLY YOU my faithful followers can help me right a wrong! We have 10 days to desend upon Deep River Ice to let them know we will see they next year! I love supporting local businesses and I love simple success stories - like owners Chelsea and Dave. Two of the nicest people you could meet. More later so lets get to the ICE!

Growing up in Hartford's Southend I was brought up on REAL ITALIAN ICE. Not some frozen ice in a cup you need a pick to eat or some chipped ice with sugary sweet syrup ; I mean smooth, melt in your mouth, flavorful Italian Ice. With close to 25 Italian Ice flavors well you can go there every night for a month and never get bored! try 1, 2, 3 scoops OR bring a Pint or Quart Home!

The Ice Cream is Giffords and with a rotating 15 flavors well have at it! Oh they have DAIRY FREE, SUGAR FREE, PLANT-BASED, COCONUT-BASED, and NON-FAT no one is left out, so bring the whole family. Real Milk Shakes, Root Beer Floats, and assorted Sundaes what more could you want!

The store is impeccably clean, bright and plenty of seats for this type of shop! Ok back to Chelsea and Dave - they walk by the vacant store, decide its a great place to serve the community and they have been open for a few months. Now I understand they will be closing Oct 17th - so we have two choices 1. Lets help them reduce their delicious stock OR 2. Get them to stay open a few more weeks!! (sorry U2!!).

Awesome! Seriously the best Italian ice I've eaten. So many flavors, perfectly blended. I suggest sampling a few before committing. If you're not in the mood for Italian ice, they have plenty of ice cream, Sundays, banana split and even dairy free/vegan options. Such a good vibe in this place the last two times I was there it was so relaxing I hung out for over an hour. The owners are very friendly and make everyone feel at home. Watching them interact with their customers, eager to please and with big welcoming smiles. Always on my list to visit...

What a great place! My wife and I visited after a long day at the Chester Dog Fair (would recommend) and where looking for some ice cold refreshment. When we walked in the owners lit up the place with their welcoming smiles and greeting. While my wife went for the classic hot fudge sundae, I tried their Italian Ice flavors, sour patch kids and Swedish Fish. The hidden bites of candy were a welcomed surprise. Come in for a visit...Dog...
