Buck's Tavern in Loveland, Ohio, is a true hidden gem that provides an authentic, intimate dining experience with some slight areas for improvement.
Right off the bat, one can't help but admire Buck's Tavern's cozy, rustic charm. The warm wooden interior, adorned with vintage memorabilia and Americana, exudes an ambiance that immediately transports you to simpler times. The place is a friendly neighborhood watering hole where you feel like part of the community, even if you're just visiting.
The culinary offerings at Buck's Tavern are undeniably a crowd-pleaser. Their menu is an appealing combination of comfort food and pub classics. The burgers are some of the best in the area, and their wings – crispy, juicy, with an assortment of delightful sauces – deserve a special mention. If you're into adventurous eating, their rotating specials never fail to surprise and impress.
As for the drink selection, Buck's Tavern boasts an extensive variety of domestic and craft beers that pair well with their food. The bar staff can whip up a commendable array of classic cocktails, making it an equally suitable spot for an evening beer or a weekend cocktail.
Despite these shining aspects, Buck's Tavern does have a couple of areas that could use refinement. The most noticeable being the seating. The interior is quite cramped, and the seats are a bit on the uncomfortable side, making long dining sessions a challenge. This tavern charm can feel overly intimate when it's at full capacity. I hope they can address this aspect to ensure a more comfortable dining experience for all their guests.
Service at Buck's Tavern has always been warm and welcoming. The staff goes the extra mile to ensure you feel at home, even during the busiest hours. Occasionally, though, service can be slightly slow, particularly on their busiest nights.
All in all, Buck's Tavern provides a genuinely good dining and socializing experience with its warm ambiance, excellent food, and friendly staff. However, the cramped seating and occasional slower service stop me from giving it a perfect rating. With some improvements, I am sure Buck's Tavern could be a 5-star destination for local cuisine and good times in Loveland, Ohio. Until then, it's a solid 4-star spot that I would recommend to both locals...
Read moreI've been to Buck's Tavern for lunch 2 times so far and both experiences have been excellent.
This place is truly a hidden gem. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but they get 5 stars across the board for me on both occasions.
Atmosphere: 5 stars This place has a neat atmosphere and is not too loud. It's general clientele seem to be locals and regulars. It has nice decorations and is well kempt.
Speed/Service: 5 stars I had the same waitress both times and she has been courteous and punctual each time. She was always friendly and checking in with us as well as got our food to us quickly.
Food/Quality: 5 stars Everything I have had from Buck's (and everything everyone I have gone with) has had great reviews.
Appetizers: Buck's Wings: we just got their BBQ wings, but they were top notch. When you bite into them they are fried well and have just the right amount of crunch.
Soft Pretzels: were hot and fresh out of the oven. Had perfect crunch and the cheese was delicious.
Chili: had a lot of flavor and contained a good amount of kick for those who like their food to have a little something extra.
Main Course: Dan's Burger: I had this the first time I went for my main course. It was cooked to perfection. The combination of bacon, cheese, onion straws, and the party was balanced and juicy.
Steak Sandwich: I didn't know what to expect when I ordered this the second time I went to Buck's, but boy was I lucky to have tried it. This sandwich ended up having a sirloin that was cooked perfectly to a medium temperature. For some reason I thought it would have been shredded or a flatter steak, but it was a good portion and...
Read moreIt was our first time trying Bucks this week! I pass the place all the time and it was nice what we expected! It is so relaxing and inviting as we walked in! The place was not slammed but almost full. We were greeted by a server and told it was seat yourself either in the dining room or a bar table. The bar itself was pretty full so we grabbed a table. Our server came over immediately with a smile and offered us drinks as it was happy hour. I was surprised the appetizers were also half price, which we ordered the pretzels with our drinks. We asked out server what she recommended and she was so informative. So we went on her recommendations which was the chicken strips, battered to order with their homemade honey mustard (awesome)! We ordered too much food of course but wanted to try everything. My husband got the Reuben which she also recommended because they make their own kraut! Delicious......I ordered a half of bucks salad with a burger! One of the best burgers ever! We didn't have room for dessert and took to go boxes! Everything was so good! I highly recommend this place and make sure you ask for Laural, she was so nice and treated us like family. Thanks for the great experience.......we...
