My wife and I are visiting from Southwest Florida, and while we usually enjoy exploring different restaurants when traveling, Scrambled was so good that we had to come back a second time for brunch! This place is truly a gem—delicious food, generous portions, and a lively, welcoming atmosphere.
The first day, I ordered the 2×2×2, and everything was spot on—the eggs were cooked perfectly, the bacon and sausage were flavorful and tasty, and the tres leches pancakes were out of this world (light, fluffy, and just the right amount of sweetness). My wife had the chilaquiles, which were crunchy, fresh, and full of flavor. I had a few bites and immediately understood why she loved them so much. Our youngest son was with us and he had the huevos rancheros, he enjoyed every bite.
On our second visit, I went for the Meat Lovers Skillet—and wow! It was an explosion of flavor, hearty, satisfying, and exactly what you hope for in a skillet. My wife tried the huevos rancheros this time and loved them just as much as our son did the first time.
What makes Scrambled stand out isn’t just the amazing food (though the skillets, omelets, and pancakes are all top-notch)—it’s also the friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable staff. Everyone made us feel welcome, and the service matched the quality of the meal. The ambiance is bright, pleasant, and lively—perfect for breakfast, brunch, or lunch with family or friends.
Overall, this is easily a 10 out of 10 in my book. One of the best brunch spots I’ve ever been to, hands down. If you’re in the Deerfield area (or anywhere nearby), do yourself a favor and stop in. We will absolutely be back the next time...
Read moreScrambled is located right next to Portillo's on Lake Cook Road. I believe this place use to be some Greek restaurant of sorts, as I saw old signage for "Demitrius" or something like that, with even a waiter who still had the old black polo shirt :-D
Scrambled has a pretty decent brunch menu, offering skillets, omelettes, crepes, french toast, waffles, pancakes, and more. I went with the house french toast, which consisted of Brioche Bread, Pastry Cream, strawberries, and syrup. It consisted of three pieces of bread, cut diagonally. Overall, enough food for this guy. Staff was friendly, and the coffee refills were on point.
The overall decór and setup was great and I enjoyed the dining experience quite a bit.
BATHROOM REVIEW: Located near the front entrance, the bathrooms were good. There is a normal height urinal, and a urinal of giants. I'm 5 foot 8, and this urinal would require a ladder to use. Usually there is a normal adult height urinal, and a kid height one. I thought it was funny. Plenty of stalls with high partitions, so you can do a number 2 and scroll through Instagram in peace. Read moreMet some friends for a weekday breakfast. I've been going to this location for many years, when it was Eggshell, but this was my first time visiting under the new Scrambled ownership. The atmosphere is lovely, big, comfortable, and easy to get a table. The service was great...fast, attentive.
My only complaint is that my Cali Bacon Avocado Scrambler was way overcooked. The bacon was painfully hard and crunchy, the eggs were dry and so mixed with other things that it was like tiny bits vs normal scrambled egg chunks. I could barely taste them over the grilled onions. It was topped with a tiny bit of avocado slices...like one quarter of a mini avocado, and the cheese was mixed in sporadically.
The prices have gone up a lot from some of the menus posted...see the black background one that lists this item at $15.50. It came with a choice of potatoes or fruit, and toast or pancakes. I played it healthy with fruit and toast, both of which were good. Overall...nice place, would not reorder this Chef's Choice item again, and the prices seemed high for the quality...
