We really wanted to love this restaurant. We had been so excited to try it.
We didn’t have a reservation and we walked in. The hostess was so kind. She told us it would be an hour and a half wait. We thought that was fine. We’ll just walk down to another bar and grab a drink while we wait.
We were called about 25 minutes later that our table is ready. Awesome! We made our way back to the restaurant and were sat immediately.
My husband ordered a beer and I ordered a martini. We waited 35 minutes for our first drink. Our waiter had come by in between that time and said that the bar was backed up. About 10 minutes after he said that we asked the manager and he said he would get our drinks right away. It took about another 10 minutes to get our drinks.
I ordered a ribeye, medium rare. My husband ordered a fillet, medium. My husband‘s steak was much more rare than mine. He had cut two pieces of the steak to see if there was any part of it that he could eat. We ended up sending it back and specifically said please do not re-cook this as we know it would be tough and overcooked. When they came back with his steak about 10 minutes later, it was the same pieces of steak that He had before. The top of the steak was literally burned because they cooked the hell out of it. We called the manager over and asked him if he would pay $42 for that steak… He replied absolutely not.
The manager felt really bad about our experience. He took the steak off our bill and our first Drinks off our bill. He offered us a dessert to share. We asked what the options were, and he had listed a few, including tiramisu. We chose the tiramisu. A few minutes later, he came back and said he was really sorry that they did not have anymore of that.
I understand this place has only been open for two weeks, but it was absolutely crazy our experience. Maybe we’ll try it again down the road? I’m not sure yet. But if you ask me, I do not recommend this place. They have some definite kinks...
Read moreThere are steak dinners... and then there's what Florentino's Charhouse is doing! From the first sip of the cocktail to the last bite of the perfectly seared steak, this place delivers a dining experience that's hard to top!
The moment you walk in, the atmosphere sets the tone. The lighting is just right - not too dim, not too bright - and there's a calm, modern vibe that instantly makes you feel comfortable. It's stylish with a layout that feels open and clean, and noise levels that actually let you enjoy a conversation.
The food... the K.C. Bone-in Strip was seared to perfection! Rich, juicy and full of flavor. The garlic mashed potatoes as a side were fantastic and exactly what you would want to complement a cut that good.
Now, let's talk about the details - the kind that most places overlook. The vegetable medley wasn't just a filler; it was fresh, vibrant, and deliciously seasoned like someone in the kitchen actually cared (because clearly, they do). The salad was crisp and refreshing, and the soup came out piping hot and packed with comforting, savory depth.
I almost forgot the fried shrimp we added to our steaks - they were generously sized, tender and fried to crispy perfection!
As for the cocktail - the blackberry coconut mojito - bright, refreshing, unique and dangerously yummy!
Florentino's is really good food, done right. Thoughtful, flavorful and confidently crafted. If you love a proper steakhouse experience - or you're just overdue for a night out - don't sleep on this place! It's the kind of spot you'll be telling people about tomorrow. Just be warned: one visit...
Read moreIt's hard to be super critical of a brand new place. If this restaurant were established, I'd be pretty unhappy with it. Went for dinner 9/19/25. We were a few minutes late for our reservation, but we were sat immediately. Cocktails were good, wait staff were good, and the room was good. Maybe a little echoey.
The flounder picatta was objectively bad. The fish was nice but the sauce had a gluey quality about it. Not like any picatta I've ever had or made. To their credit, the manager noticed that it wasn't being eaten and offered a replacement or substitution. We declined and the plate was removed with only a couple of bites eaten. When the bill came, we were charged full price for the entree, which doesn't feel right to me. YMMV.
My ribeye was a decent quality steak, delivered at the exact temperature I ordered. It was inedibly salty, which, granted, is subjective. Same for the side of veg. The baked potato was spot on, which is actually harder to do than people realize. Less than 1/4 of the steak dinner was eaten and I was not asked if I liked it and no questions asked when I didn't want a box for, basically, my whole meal.
I can't write off a brand new restaurant, it wouldn't be fair, but the kitchen has a lot of work to do based on my experience. If I were local, I'd def go back and try again in a month or so. This place is on the right track and they have a lot...
