La Hacienda — Restaurant in Del Rio

What a dive!!!! Mold was on the bottom of all of the place mats at our table. The tortilla chips were burned. My Nacho plate had to have been sitting on the counter for some time as the cheese on top was so hard that I picked up one end and lifted the whole thing up. The meat was almost luke warm and the server was "TERRIBLE". She came by one time almost 15 minutes after she delivered the food and I showed her the nacho's by lifting them off the plate. Ambience, Chips and flour tortillas were authentic. The buffet was ok. Nothing to write home about, though. The wait staff were very friendly and helpful. Believe it or not, it was the owner / manager who took our payment on the way out that really brought the place down. He didn't even bother to look up, or ask how we liked the meal or anything. Acted as if he were put out by us even being there. What a sharp contrast between the wait staff who were doing their job with a smile.

Food was so so - the enchilada sauce was very thin and flavorless. It looked as if it came from a can and then was watered down. The salsa had decent flavor and a little heat but the chips seemed overcooked. I didn't finish my food and neither did my husband. From the reviews, I expected better. The waitress was attentive and that was the redeeming factor. The young lady at the register zeroed out the tip and didn't know how to fix it, if we hadn't had cash, we would not have been able to tip the server for her service.
