Here we are 9 months later and the place just keeps getting better. The menu changes a bit each time with dishes being tried and tested. They now have fish tacos, not on the menu yet, that are incredible. Even though I am not a fish fan this one hit every taste bud. And we also had the street corn (fantastic!) and Quesso-Birria which does not disappoint. As always, a great place to stop, relax and have a wonderful meal.
We have never had a bad meal, drink or evening here and to have authentic Mexican right in our backyard is a gift. The atmosphere is beautiful and authentic while the food is beyond delicious. We have had the tacos (all the options), shrimp, churros, corn and more, all completely satisfying. And each dish and drink has a unique presentation that is very visually pleasing. At times new drinks are offered and so far none has been a disappointment. We LOVE Contento! It is so nice to have great authentic food right in the Delafield area. Any drive is worth the miles tho so don't think it is not worthwhile. The service is always welcoming too. From a greeting from the owner, Manolo and his wife to the servers and bussers who don't miss a beat, the evening is always just...
Read moreAfter reading a handful of negative reviews, my husband and I were almost deterred from dining at Contento. We had decided to visit for the first time regardless and we had a wonderful experience! We received amazing service and the food was wonderful! The negative comment about thimble sized margaritas is nonsense. The margaritas were only $12. The margaritas were the same size as a small stemware margarita. They were so good! We had ordered the guacamole and coconut shrimp as appetizers and both were served shortly after ordering and were delicious! Our entrees had exceeded expectations as well. As a matter of fact, the entire experience had exceeded expectations that were based on negative reviews. Whoever left such negative reviews must prefer quantity over quality and must be used to taco truck food. The portions were far more than needed. We will be...
Read moreWe went on Cinco de Mayo so that could explain the reason I am giving four stars. Service was not the best. Most tables were given carafes of water. Ours was not. You truly need the water, because the glasses are so small and need to be refilled often. You need the water because the drinks are so small that after two gulps you have no drink left…unless you have the water. And if service is bad, like ours, you will have nothing to drink once you finish what you are given because no one comes back to check on you.
The food was fantastic! I loved the bone marrow tacos and the mahi mahi. The appetizers were delicious. Order a lot of food, because portions are very small. But ordering a lot of food means you’ve paid $100 for tacos which my husband said he would never do again. I have no problem with spending his money, so I would definitely go back...
