Wholly Cow Frozen Custard — Restaurant in Delafield

The shop had a grand reopening today, Aug 5th 2024. We had visited many times in the past under the old management and had no complaints. The new owners have some work to do as my experience today was pretty bad. We ordered two ice cream cones and food. The first cone was soft-serve and smaller than expected. The second cone was not soft-serve and the amount of ice cream served on the cone was ridiculously small. When my wife questioned the serving size, the server said it was correct and sized by weight (which I don't believe to be true). When I lodged a complaint that the portion size was ridiculous and asked for another appropriately sized cone, they provided another which was better but also quite small for the price paid. Instead of an apology, the server actually insulted me for lodging a complaint! Also, the food order was also too small for the price paid.

Needless to say, we will not be returning again. On the one day the shop should be doing it's best, it fell...

I love Wholly Cow and have been coming here since I was a kid, plus I worked here for a number of years, so I really hate to leave a bad review… but WHY are they making sundaes with ice cream instead of custard?!? I ordered my favorite sundae of 20+ years, the Udderly Reeses, and I was UDDERLY baffled and disappointed that it was made with ice cream. This is a custard shop, where’s the custard?? I would have gone to any other run-of-the-mill ice cream shop if that’s what I wanted. Misleading and disappointing. Not the same great place it used to be under the Stoffer’s ownership, and it’s very sad for their legacy. Please go...

Ordered a turtle sundae with brownies. The brownie piece had a black hair sticking out of it and seemed to be baked into the brownie. I was told they couldn't refund me the money because a manager wasn't there. They offered to make me a new sundae. I said ok, but no brownie pieces this time (for obvious reasons). They made me a new sundae with the hair brownies. Yuk. I ended up just throwing it away. I feel once they knew hair was baked into their brownie pieces batch, they should've discarded that...
