Argilla Brewing Co. @ Pietro's Pizza — Restaurant in Delaware

2nd time going. Ordered a large pizza, wings, 2 kids meals, grilled cheese (that comes with soup) fried pickles and 2 alc beverages. Not in that order. Kids meals took forever and the kids burger looked gross. Wings didn’t come out until end of meal and were burnt to a crisp. We were told late that grilled cheese was ready but they were out of soup. Grilled cheese didn’t come out until way after we were told tho and the rest of food was delivered earlier. Ordered a second batch of fired pickles and they weren’t very good. The wings were really not good but only ate them because they took so long ( left 4 in basket). Kids meals come with ice cream sandwich but they were out. We weren’t told until it was too late. Kids weren’t happy and neither were we. We told the server how bad the wings were but not to bother taking them off the bill as we ate some because we were so hungry. When we received the final bill we found that only $5 was removed for there being no soup with the grilled cheese. The standard would be to have fully removed that meal and a drink or two with such poor service and communication. Needless to say we won’t be going back anytime soon as we felt a spit in the face for spending so much money. We even ordered 2 more alc beverages because the food took so long and just wasn’t good for the most part. Honestly sad to even write this as I’ve loved this pizza for many years. Have raved to so many people about how good it is. Have had birthday celebrations with family there, etc. Just recently went in, middle of the day, maybe 4 other people there tops, with a friend who had never been there and lives quite a distance away. Super embarrassing to me when we spotted actual green fuzzy mold on my pepperoni pizza. Specialty pizza that includes Parmesan cheese sprinkle, the parm was MOLDY green and fuzzy. I’m not out here looking for anything for free, that one item had been replaced and comped (though I’ve worked in this industry before, I think the proper way to handle that situation is to comp the whole check but whatever that’s not the issue). The issue is the lack of quality control. Not trying to shit on the employees who work there but the process of adding this cheese to my pizza, this parm would have been seen by more than one person prior to my noticing of it, you would think. I can forgive a lot of things that come with issues with food but I don’t know if I can forgive the serving of MOLDY food. My spouse actually took a bite of the pizza before noticing this. Yikes. We went in after whatever lunch rush they may have had and I couldn’t help but wonder how many people were served moldy Parmesan that afternoon. Probably...

Really want to love this place but it's just so inconsistent, from the decor to the food. The place looks really nice from the outside and they have a beautiful sign, but once you get inside it just looks dingy. The food and drink are similarly inconsistent. They had 2-3 beers on the menu that were amazing but the rest were just meh. The only good food I've had on the menu is the pizza; the fish tacos (WAY over-seasoned), tots (way over cooked), etc. just didn't taste good and were extremely greasy. The beer pretzels were too dense/over-cooked and greasy. I tried two different white pizzas with different toppings that were both excellent. However we also tried the pig & pineapple bbq pizza which was just not good at all. The pineapple was dry/rubbery and not sweet and the bbq sauce flavor was basically all you tasted. The only plus on this pizza was the house made sausage; you could tell it was house made when you tasted it by itself because it was excellent.

Bottom line: a place like this needs to focus on what they are already doing well, improve upon that and get rid of or completely revamp what they aren't doing well in order to be great. The menu should be shorter to accentuate what they do well so people aren't disappointed and they should improve the interior decor. These would be vast...
