This is a great park to take your kids to. There's a large playground, swings, and baby swings for kids which are conveniently located next to bathrooms. For adults, there is a parcourse on a 2 mile paved walking path that circles around the playground. It's also just a really nice area to walk around with your kiddos since it isn't too long. There are also soccer nets, a tennis court, a batting cage, a skatepark, and an outdoor pool located within Mingo Park. The pool is only open during the summer and there is an admission fee. Read moreAlthough the actual rec center is still in 1965 the rest of the park is really nice. Lots of soccer fields, baseball fields, walking track with workout stations, amazing skate park that has some really nice older guys that make the younger kids feel like stars and lit tennis courts along with a play area for the kids.
The tennis courts should really be painted for pickleball also since it is NEVER busy and that sport is growing like crazy and can provide the city with more "dedicated" court options.
The hand powered boat ramp leads to a nice walk by the water for dogs and adventuring kids. Super cool...

But I wasn't discouraged or frightened from going back to this park. The park has a softball field, recreation rooms that you can rent for parties, bike path, walking path through the woods and swimming pool.
