Service was soooo bad it was funny. Took sometime for us to be acknowledged at the hostess stand. Even though at least 2 servers made eye contact they ignored us. The couple in front of us was minutes from leaving they had waited so long - she actually had whipped her phone out and started looking for other dining options when someone finally addressed us. Once seated. We put in app orders right away, and she said she would come back for drink orders. At least 10 minutes later.... she returned and I ordered sangria. The server then came back after several minutes and asked, "Do you want white or red?" I said either was fine (although it is red in the picture). She then responded, "well, he poured white." Ok then. When it arrived, I noticed there was no fruit, it was in a regular sized wine glass and I took one sip of the sickeningly sweet wine that almost assuredly was moscato. It was supposed to be a fruit and wine filled large martini glass --if the picture in their menu next to the item marked HOMEMADE SANGRIA is to be believed. What I got was a regular wine glass of moscato. I pushed the wine away to to the far edge of the table and expected her to notice, but alas, she chose to ignore a completely full glass of wine that clearly was not being drunk and never thought to ask if there was something wrong. I thought about saying something, but felt like she did not want to be there anyway, and so I just left it, hoping she would notice. Any good server would have immediately noticed and saved the customer that awkward moment. I ordered a guacamole app and a chorizo dip. They arrived in a fair amount of time. Both are super messy, so I asked for app plates so as not to drip all over the table. She looked at me like it was the strangest request ever, picked up the small bowl of guacamole and grabbed the serving saucer underneath, and placed it in front of me. Holy moly! Now THAT was hilarious. The app of guacamole was so salty it was almost inedible. But I like guac and ok with salt - so I ate it. Took 25 minutes for entree. Never got water until halfway through the meal we had to ask - after attempting twice to get her attention. I asked for extra napkins because of the aforementioned messy apps, and they never arrived. It should be noted that this was a weeknight, around 730, and they were not busy. Several two tops and a couple of four tops. Food was like every other east coast average Mexican restaurant. All in all food meh/ok. Prices were very cheap. Service was hilariously horrid. All the servers moved like they were on a morning stroll instead of the brisk movement of someone in the service industry on a mission. Zero sense of urgency was painful to watch. Still tipped 20% because I just cant not. If the food had been awesome, i can live with poor service. I was also not charged the $9 for the sangria. I was only charged for a regular wine. So apparently neither the server nor the bartender have any clue what is...
Read moreTried this place for the first time with family the wait for the food was long but the birria ramen was AMAZING! I decided to call in an order two days later I was told 20 min. I came to pick my food up 45 min later and it still was not done! I waited another 20 min for my food! Just to get home and everything leaked out and the soups had a weird taste to it. I called back and was told they could offer me $12 off my next meal???? For a $24 meal?!? Absolutely not! So I pushed and was told I can get another ramen birria another time or another thing of my choice. So I called back yesterday to order and when I asked how long he said 20 min I asked if they were busy because I did not want a repeat he said yes so I cancelled the order. I just called again today and was told maybe I’m calling the wrong location they don’t have a credit for me, then he says he does so I order fajitas which is $8 LESS then what I paid. When I asked if it’s the same price he says no but you can’t order anything else just one meal?!? Ok so you guys made $8 off me! I didn’t want to fuss anymore I said ok! I will pick my food up and will never return to this restaurant again! I’ll go back to where I was originally going which is EL FOLKLORE DE MEXICO. Check their reviews...
Read moreTrying not to dump totally but. The server had zero customer service experience. He did try although. The steak meal was ordered for "medium well." Out came the sizzling plate with an overcooked, and too done piece of meat. Apparently a side salad, "Mexican Style", is a small plate with a small portion and I do mean miniscule of shredded iceberg on the bottom and hardly noticeable as it's layered on top with piled green peppers, not cut apart, and mushrooms. The "side salad" was visually unappealing and not conducive for consumption. We asked to have the meat taken away and returned for a "medium well" version. The meat came back almost literally raw, unseasoned and cutting it was difficult with the dull steak knife provided. BTW, we had to ask for a steak cutting knife as one did not come with the meal. The Margarita was mediocre. My mother's birthday meal was a bust. She couldn't eat anything. The manager was summoned. He explained he would take off the meal, "only this 1 time", from the bill. Customer Service 101, make sure the guest is happy. Maybe an apology. Oh, and in all the confusion with my mom's meal. I think my meal was supposed to have guacamole, but it didn't. At that point an exit was my only thought. No...
