My friends and I haven't been here in a while but always found the experience to be excellent top to bottom. We arrived mid afternoon on a Monday, not many people in the restaurant at that time . It was warm inside which was a little uncomfortable given the hot day outside . Our young waiter was overly attentive and came to check on us a little too often. He was very polite and seemed eager to provide good service but also a little nervous. The meal was overall disappointing at best and while the owner was apologetic, removed one item from the bill and brought out a complimentary dessert it didn't really restore my faith in the quality of food being prepared now. The Caesar salad had a dead bug in it. I sent it back. Was offered another but I declined. The Panini I ordered came out and was nothing like how a panini is properly prepared. What came out was a cold sandwich on the correct bread, but one that had not been cooked and pressed. Just cold bread, with a cold slice of mozzarella (deli it seemed not fresh mozz), tomato and basil leaves with balsamic.). The fries were average. Really very disappointed at what is being produced there now and wondering what has happened back in the kitchen that left so many holes in proper preparation and execution of even the simplest dishes. The final insult was the bill. Even with the removal of one item it was still over 50$. The drink ordered was tasty but ...very weak. It won't be worth the risk to return. Another area restaurant crossed off my list and further confirmation from this experienced home cook that what I make at home is better. I'll...
Read moreI have been going to Piazza Mia for 5 years now and the quality has been sliding recently. Sadly the original menu was overhauled and some options we used to get all the time, were lowered in quality while prices were raised, or they were removed altogether. The Fra Diavalo is an example where the price was increased but the portion was smaller and the seafood was changed out, and now my friends who usually get and love that dish no longer enjoy it.
Today I received the sorriest example of a margarita pizza. It barely had any cheese and was almost entirely sauce. There was the barest flakes of basil on top. The sauce was overwhelming in flavor, and I usually get the margarita pizza so I know it has been much better in the past. I was really disappointed with how much the food has changed. Tried out the new ahi tuna dish - barely a portion. Left hungry and not happy with the cost.
The lunch menu is still fine and a general go-to. But the changes they have made really not made us happy, especially with how long we have been coming here, and we love coming for lunches!!
Now as far as service goes - always excellent. The staff is always courteous, nice and knowledgable of the menu. Never had any problems with staff in all the 5 years. They all seemed to be...
Read moreI really enjoy eating at Piazza Mia. The food proportion was really good not too much not too little. Service was top-tier. Our server, Zach was really good funny, attentive, and very knowledgeable of the menu. I would say, I thought the menu was a little bit pricey for two people. My husband and I had, an appetizer three drinks two entrees the bill came to $101. Not extremely bad but I thought for two people it was a little bit on the higher side. But the food nonetheless was really good. I had the seafood risotto and my husband had the honey salmon with mixed vegetables. The entrées were really fresh. They were piping hot and darn good. I had a pomegranate Margarita and my husband had the mango margarita I must say the bartender did not skimp at all on the alcohol worth every penny. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants a fulfilling meal, followed by a lot of spirits. Also there is a charge for using your debit or credit card not a big fan of paying a fee when I’m using my debit credit card but nonetheless, I do understand that merchants are charged a fee for using credit card machines...
